My husband did tell me prior to marriage about his debt which was student and otherwise and he wasn’t in a very high earning profession like a physician either. It made me prepared for how we were to live our life and how to budget to make sure the debt is paid off fast.
As regards scaring the girl away, most desi girls will be happy to marry a physician and people know that medical students have a lot of loans. Doctors make a lot of money especially if they plan to go into specialization ( and even otherwise), in the US and as long as you have a plan it should be all good.
