You want to paint the house inside out, change few windows, remove "Ma'ShaAllah" stone from the front, clean the floors etc, but don't want to fix broken pillars and beams.

You didn’t get the point I was making. If you constantly look in the back view you never look forward. You don’t see your future you only see the past. As any good driver knows your eyes stay on the road. Not on your review mirror.
Thus the comment about driving in reverse. I hope you get the analogy now.

Back view mirror is actually our window in the future. There you see what is going to be with you or ahead of you in few seconds.
You can actually call it future-view-mirror.
What PD is essentially referring to is more like Past-view-mirror.
In term of car appliance it would be equal to , watching a recorded video in car while driving.

Yes Diwana saheb has the right to say whatever he feels like saying. U are free to feel jealous of him for his mannered and civil language. Why U are having spasms in ur belly when diwana saheb is exhibiting his usual tahzeeb in the best way possible? Its ur problem if U are not taught this language by ur teachers. Why dont you focus such patriotisms which are dividing us further. Put your efforts to bring Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashtune, Pakhtune, and blochi near each other. This is the relevant and burning issue.
