I don't know why some ppl think there would be less sexual abuse in our societies, I mean I know it's a different thing but there's certainly more sexual harassment going on in most Muslim countries than in the west. Can you imagine going shopping in London and having some random man try and touch you up or seeing someone playing with his privates whilst u walk by him??
In Saudi Arabia it's pretty common for Fillipino maids to get abused by their employers (the mothers/wives often turn a blind eye and reason that the men are simply 'frustrated' and have high sex drives that need to be satisfied), so much so that the Philippines embassy keeps 'safe houses' for this very reason, for girls who are rescued or have escaped abuse. It's really a myth that abuse occurs less in our Muslim societies, it's just nearly always hushed up cos there are still the messed up ideas of abuse victims being 'damaged goods', that 'boys will be boys' and ppl wondering if the victims somehow brought on the abuse themselves :(

This assumption has nothing to do with being a "Muslim" country. Islam doesn't condone sexual abuse. People in Muslim countries will be very anal about the display of provocative images because Islam does not allow it.........they might even impose the rule that women should cover themselves head to toe because Islam urges women to dress modestly.............but then they don't want to follow the Islamic advice of "lowering your gaze."
I think I once read that it's one of the countries with a more conservative culture that has the biggest problem with viewing porn. You'd think it would be a Western nation.
The problem with Asian culture is that their obsession with the fear of "log kya kahain ge" is an ENABLER of sexual abuse...........and it empowers the offender.
In order to protect the girls' reputations.........families are willing to risk their daughters possibly having a LIFETIME of psychological/self-esteem issues. And because little (sometimes NOTHING) is done to punish the offender.........the victim begins to feel that she is the guilty one.....that she had done something wrong, etc etc. Our people don't use common sense. I've said it before: While desi culture has several positive aspects.........it's also embarrassingly disturbing and sick in some ways.
These girls were not only subject to incest, they were killed afterwards and blamed by their families whilst their abusers were forgiven..

I dont think Pakistan has this problem as much as the Europeans and North Americans do...goras seem to thrive on this as some kind of twisted act...at the end of the day though, anyone who commits such an act deserves to go to hell.

How do you know that pakistan doesn't have incest and pedophilia? Have you carried out a statistical research ? Do you honestly believe that such acts carried out in this part of the world ever get reported? Just because things arent reported here doesnt mean they dont occur. Rape is so common in muslim societies too but out of so many cases maybe just 1 or 2 may get reported.

I beg to differ. The definition of normal is highly subjective. Mormons will think of you as being abnormal.
What one considers as perversion is just not an ordinary thinking for that society, religion, philosophy, etc. It may fit very well within another society or a culture.
Islam recommends early marriages while many of the current cultures look down upon it. A Muslim may think of it as other cultures promoting premarital sex while other cultures may see Islam as condoning child marriages. Difficult to say who is perverted?
In the past, incest was ordinary thing in many cultures. It is not now. How do you see perversion in that scenario? How can things change for being normal to being perverse?
