In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

It is amzing to see that how our nation and GS crowd fails to notice anything positive comming out of our rank, and dig out all the nasty crimes and discuss them to death, at each and every opportunity they get :nook:

In the past week, many security personel embraced shahadat while saving the lives of many more innocent citizens of pakistan. They deserve utmost respect and recognition at all levels for facing the nightmarish task of providing security in the most difficult of times.

These are the Heroes of our time

Security Guard at Mariot Islamabad, Tariq Mehmood Shaheed embraced shahadat while doing his job and probably saved us from huge catastrophy

Chief of Capital City police, Peshawar Malik Muhammd SaadShaheed and his fellow policemen in Peshawar, embraced shahadat while performing their duties i.e providing security to masses.

Two Constables at checkposts in Dera Ismail khan, Who got shahadat in the line of fire.

All of them died while performing their duty. May Allah give them reward, and enlighten those who are misguided. ameen

I am also at complete loss as why this thread was not considered wothy enough by moderators as it was never Made Important !

Lack of initiative is appaling… Or perhaps this is just a reflection of our national character.

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

Yes indeed! They are our real heros!

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

The people of their family should not be abondon by the goverment and us.

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

CR, do you care to define term Shadhat for us... I mean what does it mean to you? They sure died in the line of duty... but Shahdhat...

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

** They sure died in the line of duty… but Shahdhat…**

What else is shahadat then ? What can be bigger sacrifice than dying while trying to save lives

While we can easily ignore their sacrifice, it is the matter of fact that Shaheed Tariq Mehmood the secuity Guard, just an ordinary pakistani, has saved over a billion people of this region from sinking into an deep turmoil. If God forbid that plot had been successful, it had the potential to be the worst trigger for another bloody war between two countries … Even worse than Cuban Missle crisis, which brought two super powers at the edge of Nuclear Holocaust.

If you are asuming that i am making this up from my stomach then

  1. you know nothing about the region
  2. you need to use that thing on your shoulder more often

For india & pakistan, peace is just a recess between two periods of hostility.

The Lack of recognition from the nation and Govt is just a continuation of apathy we show for our heroes. Be it Abdus Salam Or Abdul Qadeer. Or Tariq Mehmood

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

a man who dies trying to prevent a robber snatch his mobile phone is ‘shaheed’…

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

CR, I was not questioning the story ... it will be wise if you tried using your noggin more often before trying to convince people that you are the biggest supporter of a "region".

armughal, what logic are we following here? Is it from a hadith?

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

We do not need support of any religion to call anyone a shaheed! Even if these policemen were non-muslims, they are shaheeds in my eyes!

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

The shaheed who attained shahaada at the Marriot Hotel at islamabad, was my uncle and i am very pleased that he attained shahaadat in the line of duty and may allah forgive him and give him a high status in jannah and may his family have patience for their loss. (aameen)

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

No. I am one of the stooges who sit on their fat asses all day, do nothing constructive, say nothing substantial and utter gibbeish on the matters of national importance.

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

Cody.... Just to add a bit on part of MALIK SAAD.... For other u mentioned are diff from HIM... Coz... All others performed Duties and they are gr8 too May Allah Bless them all.. but for Malik Saad... it was not something un expected. He was like a Lion Roaring everywehre in NWFP. Almost everyone here are realy sad on his death. DIG Abid Ali who was Killed almost a month ago.. he was Nightmare for Criminals too like Malik Saad the Gr8.

It was Malak Saad's Open Statement to the Criminals ..... If U want to Bribe me with 10 or 20 or 30 Lac Rupees... Or Even more.... Dont waste Ur time and Money.... Go Pay 1 or 2 lac to some Killer as bounty on my Head and Kill me... that will solve ur problem.

He was Always Prepared for Death... He was Always Expecting it... For anyone who dont konw his Track Record... If they read it .... They will come to Know that Super Heros Do Exist...

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

Now that you are on the track of self evaluating, please explain, what gibbeish is? Oh and do tell us how we can improve the morale in the "region".

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

Fbi786- Indeed your uncle is a hero for us and only Allah can reward him for his sacrifice. We as a nation are so down and nurture such a low self esteem that we dont want to accept that people among us do their duty honestly and deligently, so much so that they sacrifice their life for people and country . On the contrary we tend to assume, taht they might be at wrong place at a wrong time.

For me his efforts are at par with the heroics of Rashid Minhas Shaheed. As neither of them had planned to do something extra ordinary on that fatefull day when they woke up in the morning; but when the situation demanded they did exactly what was needed and sacrificed their life for the secrurity and soveneignty of their country.

Golden Scorpian- Yes, we have more people like him among us who do thier duty professionaly and honestly, but they remain un-noticed just because for masses what they are doing is their duty. Just like thousands of policemen who provided security during Ashura while putting their life in extreme danger, and they knew it very well. But we dont want to acknowledge their efforts and sacrifice, but if God forbid some nasty incident had occured (like yesteryears) people would not have spared them from lynching as how inefficient and corrupt they are !

Same is the picture here. People are always ready to criticise govt, departments and whatnot in case of breach of security but cant offer two words of praise for their efforts.

Kaleem - as a first step we can recognise and applaud the efforts of Few good men who give us hope in this period of distress. :flower1:

Moderators of this forum ! Please Respond

Please explain to me the reasons why this threadis not made sticky in this (General) forum. I believe, we give due reverence and share our feelings with members of this board at the demise / illness of their loved ones. And we also express our joy, emotions at the birth , nuptual or any great achievement of the said folks. Why the loss of relative in above mentioned thread is not given due reverence ?

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

Cody..... Totaly Agreed to U.... We should also praise the work if we can criticise things so quickly.
I always argue to ppl when they say.... ABC did this to Us.... XYZ did that.... Bcoz of ABC we are not living proper life etc...... I always say that its ur own Fault.... Y U let ABC and XYZ to play with U... If U r not for sale no one can Buy U....

We only Criticise others that they are not doing thier duties but dont bother to look at our selves if we are performing our duties or not...
We Must Praise Who deserve to be Praised.... Govt authorities were very good this Ashura...

May Allah Keep all of Us Safe, Happy and Healthy. (Ameen)

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

Great thread CR, and yes, the situation could have been alot worse if they had not acted promptly even though it meant risking thier lives. They are heroes indeed and should be honored as such.

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

There is no sense of favoritism going on here. We really do not have rules on announcements. Sometimes they are opened in General, other Cafe’, image and other places. There is basically no rule in making a thread sticky, but sometimes when a member of Gupshup is well-known, it is more likely the threads becomes sticky.

Making a thread sticky has nothing to do with importance; the person who lost his uncle was not only a great family man but also a productive and brave member of our society. I think entire Pakistan mourned the loss of brave men during that blast.

I hope I have answered your question.

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

Thank you for caring enough to respond, Man with a plan :flower1:

I completely disagree with you.

Making a thread sticky has everything to do with importance, you can even check with moderator’s handbook or consult with admins.

But in doing so the ‘importance’ is totally subjective, and it is based upon moderator’s judgement.

I am not accusing you of favoritism. This is indeed your discretion as you judge what is important and admins have confidence on your judgement;this is why they have given you the authority.

it is the sad aspect, Entire pakistan does not care !! Their mindset is negative they dont appreciate sacrifice of brave men.

Re: In The Line Of Fire- Overlooked Heroes

It has mostly to do with discussions not announcements. Like I said, entire Pakistan mourned the loss of brave men that day. Stop accusing people of something they have not done intentionally.
