In the current political realm

AsSalaamo Alaikum,

With every last bit of faith fleeing the hearts of those with colored thumbs, it has become apparent that Politics has truly just become a chess board set up by the experts, for the pleasure of the experts, and the continued benefit from it ends up with the experts. The naive newcomers may be allowed to sit at the game board, for the sake of transparency and name-sake equality; however, soon they’re left with narrowing choices none of which serve the non-ruling non-experts of the country; namely the ones with ink-marred thumbs who returned from polling stations with higher hopes than before.

All practical solutions point to the fact that Pakistanis who may have left the country at one point or another will need to either band together and force reforms using their monetary carrot and stick, or in more drastic measures mull together to encourage a political entity made up of those who earn the lowest salaries, namely the honest bread earners of families who know and realize the pains of making a living every day.

While many of us may really only want to see the soft transition, which can take years and lead to further decline in Economical and Security situation of the country, it may be entirely possible to yield quicker results if the abled countrymen used their resources to shame the current non-performing politicians at every avenue possible, so as to amplify the voices of the unsatisfied masses who are all ready to flush out the foul characters who enter the system under a garb of reform, but soon return to their old ways taking a nation of 160+ million strong for a pricey joyride, the end result of which is that public suffers while the elitist drivers of this bandaged vehicle called Pakistan find safest ways to exit just before the crash, only later to show up to lay blame on faulty vehicle itself or their bosom-brothers in the waiting. The vicious cycle continues.

Perhaps it’s a curse due to inaction of the public whose only priorities seem to have become imitating other nations, finding ways to cheat fellow countrymen by all means necessary, and being on the ready to liquidate everything including faith just to ditch the motherland. What a tragedy this is!

However, I’d be a hypocrite If I didn’t critique myself first. I do find that the blame lies largely on myself and others like me, who although free of all blame at some point of migration, are now capable of returning to serve the country but fail to do so for one reason or another. But return to what end? What systematic way might there be for ex-patriots to give back, and nourish the nation they identify with either by direct links to the land, or by association of their parents and/or ancestors? How can the system change, and what changes may overseas Pakistanis contribute to, to have a positive impact on the country’s affairs in the current political realm, as well as long-term investment for the future so that the antibiotics of today, may eventually result in a non-infected system of governance for our coming generations who will no doubt hold us all accountable for the state of affairs that they inherit.

Re: In the current political realm

But, I still believe that a large majority of Pakistani residents are those who struggle for the sake of the country every day. They’re worthy of respect, and honor for the simple fact that they’re living through the good and the bad, the pleasant and the harsh in real time, while I sit here free to comment from afar.

May Allah (swt) bless the hearts of muslims, strengthen them, and give them the guidance to enjoin the good and forbid evil at a micro and macro scale. InshaAllah Pakistan is a resilient nation with a resilient public whose political acumen may not be strong, but the heart is in the right place at the right time, most of the time. :jhanda:
