One Killed as Rebels Disperse Protesters With Gunfire

Growing resentment at a harsh brand of Islamist rule imposed by rebel factions has led to protests in multiple rebel-held towns in the Aleppo Province. The protests included criticism of a rebel blockade of supply routes into civilian areas not yet under rebel control.
The rebels see the blockade as necessary to weaken the supply routes of government forces, but the move is also keeping humanitarian food aid, finally trickling into the country, from civilians still living in the city, Syria’s largest.
Rebels dispersed today’s protests with gunfire, mostly fired in the air. Opposition activists confirmed at least one person was killed by the gunfire, however, and several others were wounded.
Food prices have been soaring recently across Syria, as the civil war impacts the nation’s food production, and makes transport even harder. Shortages are likely to exasperate the tensions growing in rebel-held neighborhoods that are less-than-enamored with being placed under harsh styles of Sharia law by foreign Islamist fighters.

^^^ As soon as religious people start doing something positive I will be the 1st one to post it. ;)
Ameen to the motivation.
Tell me what do you consider as positive? may be i can help you find some good news :)
Let nme think of some thing positives that you are looking for
Educating people is positive/helping poor is positive ? supporting other religious groups is positive?. Fighting for the cause of oppressed is positive?
Re: In Rebel-Held Towns, Syrians Protest Against Islamist Rule
Educating poor? You mean brainwashing kids into becoming suicide bombers? Helping poor? How? The biggest oppressors are religious people who think they have divine mission to convert others and anyone who disagree with their beliefs is worthy of death. What part of that is positive?
Re: In Rebel-Held Towns, Syrians Protest Against Islamist Rule
Can you share any of your positive post about Islam/religious people that you have posted here in last few months?
If we all started posting the positive contributions of Islam, we would run out of bandwidth. Hence we focus on the few major examples of Islamic fanatics who end up f'ing everything up and making peoples lives miserable.
As a general principle, its better to highlight your faults in order to improve them, instead of constantly touting your positives, which only makes you seem conceited and delusional.
You should acknowledge the faults of Muslims, its a sign of maturity.
Re: In Rebel-Held Towns, Syrians Protest Against Islamist Rule
I, too, was cheering for Syrian freedom, but compare to rebels Asad does not look so bad anymore.
homes being bombed from the sky, people being shredded by tank fire children being knee capped and other children having one eye physically pulled out if caught protesting, and you think Assad ain't so bad anymore!!!
Re: In Rebel-Held Towns, Syrians Protest Against Islamist Rule
It takes the ATTACHMENT with Islam to highlight the faults of Muslims in order to improve them.
You guys always highlight the faults and have no solution but accept secularism.
Oh, secularism can only remove the faults of Muslims.
Re: In Rebel-Held Towns, Syrians Protest Against Islamist Rule
Over one million Iraqis have met violent deaths as direct result of US invasion and occupation of Iraq, care to comment on the fruits of freedom and democracy American style?

Oh, secularism can only remove the faults of Muslims.
Secularism is only one of the many things that Muslims have to adopt in order to improve their lot. Secularism in itself isn't going to fix all problems alone.
Its because of their attachment to Islam that Muslims advocate for secularism. The mixing of Islam with politics is not helping Islam its hurting Islam. You should study philosophy, history, and sociology among other things, in a sincere and open minded way and you will see that people who believe in secularism are speaking the truth and that your opposition is only based on ignorance, prejudice, close mindedness, and a general lack of understanding.
Re: In Rebel-Held Towns, Syrians Protest Against Islamist Rule
One thing is clear no faction or group of people in the Syrian resistance gives a damn about secularism it has no place in Syria and has been abandoned. The people of Syria have chosen the path to an Islamic state. The Russians and Americans are united on one fact they will ensure with all their power to prevent an Islamic state being established in Syria.
You can see now the insults by the Russian and American politicians calling Syria terrorism and al qaeeda its typical propaganda and don’t be surprised by their swear words even one poster on here supporting and preferring bashar al assad the genocidal maniac who slaughters whole towns as if its nothing.
