Guy and girl like each other. Guy and girl decide to get married.

Guy and girl’s families are not thrilled about the wedding, but are resigned to the marriage happening.

One side/set of in-laws makes a greater effort to welcome the other side and make the relationship a happy one or at least not cause any problems in the relationship.

One side/set of in-laws is generally rude and difficult to be around. They’ll allow the marriage to happen but are neither courteous to nor respectful of the person their child wants to marry nor are they very pleasant to the other family.

The marriage has not taken place yet - what should the families and the couple do?

Well according to me its very important that the two families are comfortable with each other and get along fine. However, if that is not the case then few points need to be taken into consideration before making up their final decision;

1. Is it the girls or the guys side that is being difficult? If it’s the guy’s side of the family it will become all the more difficult if the couple going to live with them marriage.

2. Have they discussed or given any reason for their rude behavior? Why such dislike for the girl/guy? Is it only because it was not their choice or there is more to it like different background/culture/lifestyle which is bound to come up in their dialy lives and be a reason for further animosity in future.
