From past few days, i was very busy in preparing presentation subject ‘Help The Flood Victims’. We have organized a charity-cum-dinner, where i hav to give a speech on a presentation prepared by myself.
Glad to share that in two hours function, we were able to raise cash 6815.7755 US$.
we are planning to hold/organize such kind of funtions/dinner in future too. If some1 woul like to have a copy of my presentation, please feel free to post here or pm me. I’ll send a copy of this.

LKK this is really wonderful. A lot can be done with the ~$7,000 dollars for the people in need in Pakistan.
Can u plz post the details of the "fundraising dinner"? How was it organised, who was invited, how did u raise the money, and any other important details? Just so others can read this and be inspired to do something similar to raise money for Pakistan.
But make sure not to post personal details like phone numbers/names etc.
First of all we have taken permission from conerned departments to hold/organize such kind of fundraising dinner. Then we searched for local sponsors who will bear the expensive to make invitation cards, banners etc., ofcourse their expensive cosidered charity too. After this we hav contacted a hotel owner who was willing to give charity. Instead taken the charity, we told him to serve Iftari dinner. This is how peoples joined where i had given presentation on the said subject.
Some prominents Pakistanis, Volunteer organization and other groups also joined us, including some official from semi-govt. dept. (due to security reason i can’t mention here).
My next plan is to hold 'soccer (football) tournament. Where one team can hav 20 player and each player hav to pay participation fee **5 US$. **First of all we’ll try to find some local sponsors (who will pay money and we’ll make banner for their publicity). We hav lot of empty grounds where we can held this tournament. No permission required and this is very simply way to raise funds. If we have 5 -6 teams including few sponsors that i think estimated 1,000 US$ will be easily raised. Same like this we can organize cricket or anyother sports game
(this is possible if more than 4 teams participated)

^ May Allah swt reward all of you for your continuing efforts. This just goes to show how ordinary people like ourselves, living within or outside of Pakistan, can really make a difference if we want to!
This is some of the work that I have been doing so far:
The two projects that I had in mind was just a change box in the lunch area on our floor and the second one was that I would ask people to fast next Thursday on the 19th from when they come to work till about 230 in the afternoon. These people would get their friends, family, co workers or anyone they know to sponsor them. I will match the amount that they raise upto a maximum of 500$ total. Up until this morning when I sent out the email I did not know where those 500$ were gonna come from but I sent the email out anyway thinking that if nothing else I will put that money out and cut on my shadi shopping some where. By afternoon 3 amazing donors had promised me 300$ for my cause and I think the last 200$ I can chip easy from my pocket.
My chinese blacko friend took my email and sent it to her whole division and she got quite a few positive responses from that. So, I did the same with my whole directorate and a couple of other friends of mine are in the process of doing the same and the word will be out to their directorates as well. In about 6 hours we had raised 80.75$ and the number is going to go up. A few people wanted to talk to me about this but because of friday prayers and other things on my table I did not get a chance to speak to them. So that is Monday.
I know I am going to have more than 500$ so I emailed a few of my brit friends here on GS and asked them to do the same drive in their part of the woods and I'll be more than happy to match their donation, dollar for dollar, up to a total of 200$. If anyone else wants to contribute to this drive please send me a pm and I shall try my best to help you out in any way possible.
