Is it possible to create an inhouse/internal IM for Gupshup and it’s members? Just curious.

What do you exactly mean by “inhouse IM system” … I feel like you are talking about Gupshup’s own PM (Personal Messaging) System which is “inhouse” in that sense.

You mean something like Messenger for Gupshup. We thought about that, and actually an Alpha version was developed that sync'd up with MSN Messanger and was very closely integrated with Gupshup as well. So it allowed guppies to have all their MSN (non guppie) contacts there as well as have real time notification of PM's, new posts in subscribed threads and many other nifty features. The project was delayed, and then our developer was unavailable. If there is enough interest, we may consider re-starting the project.

I can think of a couple uses for it. Maybe in a future upgrade ehh.

Just wondering if that messenger was web based (using browser like IE or FF) or client based (like MSN messenger)??? The reason I am asking is that I too have written a IM-System (Client & Server both) that is secure (SSL based) and uses MySQL as the database. The client and server are both done are windows (Win2k & above) applications. I am attaching a few screenies of the client (I am currently in the process of getting the graphics of the client redone professionally, the current ones were taken from lots of different applications :D)
