On November 2nd I see one of two things happening. The first being we won’t know who won the election for a week or 3 as problems turn up and the election of 2000 looks like a picnic.
The other possibility I see occurring is a victory by John Kerry by a substantial amount.
While the polls show an extremely tight race here are few things to keep in mind;
Those that only have cell phones don’t get polled, that’s at least 3% of the country and millions of voters not heard from, the polling ‘experts’ say that it doesn’t matter, but I’m giving the demographics in this case go to favor Kerry.
New voters. The Democrats won the “Get out the register” drive and I’ll put my money on them to win the “Get out to vote” drive. You know something special is going on when you see P-Diddy working his ass off tell people to ‘Vote or Die’.
Bill Clinton. He said so and the man is bullet proof, it’s a done deal.
George ‘Dubya’ Bush. When undecided voters come to pull the lever or push the touch screen or punch the card they will ask themselves “Am I better off? Is the country better off?” I’m certain that when they set the spin aside they will decide that a misdirection has occurred and it’s time for someone else to give it a shot.
Unfortunately Diebold Machine glitches, hacks, or whatever is a scary thing to think about. They shouldn't be used until they are equipped with printers that print a slip showing who you are voting for to avoid errors, that's not case this time around. That said this election is going to be watched with a microscope in one hand and a video camera in the other.
I'll tell you what, the Kerry campaign has not capitalized on probably the biggest thing they could say to sway undecideds their way.
How's this: ** "The election of Kerry means that Hillary Clinton won't run for President in 2008. We cannot risk having a Clinton in the White House and a Clinton as Secty Gen of the UN. " **
Kerry told a joke in FL rally that he asked Clinton today what is the common between him (Clinton) and George W. Bush?
Clinton replied with his usual intellect, "There is one thing common between me and Bush, that in 8 days and 12 hours we both will be former presidents" he said. :D
