I disagree that pakistan has less potential than India. if the governance issues are solved Pakistan can be a much more viable economy compared to India which has a huge economic disparity. The number of poor living under $2 and $1 are much higher in India. While boasting the wealth of top 100 wealthiest people in India, most of my Indian friends tend to forget that number of miserably poor in in India (living below $1/day) is almost double compared to Pakistan. Indians think that around 20% middle class is the whole of India. Around 50% odd extremely poor are also a part of Indian nation..

If you read one of my earlier posts, that’s exactly what I said. If Pakistan’s politics are stable, it has more potential (IMHO) than India because of the sheer number of people in poverty in India. On the other hand, there is no political history, and our leaders have all been from the feudal class, which is hardly something a country should aspire to. Political cultures can take a generation or two to change, so in the meantime, India does have a brighter future, unless of course we get our sh*t together.
