You are missing the point, the same reasons are contributing to the lack of growth, that is the point. British started Industries where there was potential, where they could get man power that could not only labor but manage and do clerical work. Only a negligible % of British establishments (including government) are manned by whites and almost 95% of non-whites are also non-Muslims. Go figure. **While Muslims are no way inferior Hindus, but India had more people ready for the challenge of running independent country that Pakistan had. ** Ready and willing to create industries, build dams, manage railways. With socialism, the growth slowed, but it had other benefits, that is stabler democracy, that can not be influenced by Money, Feudal or other powers.
