Your post is too long so will reply when I get to read it in full. But first part of your post. Saleem are you really so clueless about what Im saying or pretending to be clueless.
All the criminals and unethical people are that way due to the moral corruption which is a part of them. So without being (morally) corrupt, one cant commit a crime or unethical acts. Who goes to police to lodge an FIR if dodged by a street fruit vendor? Infact, in Pakistan very few lodge a police complaint even if cheated for huge sums of money. So even if those people are criminals in the books of law, still their actions came out of a defect in their personality. The defect being moral corruption. So I still look at those street vendors acts as acts of corruption. Yes, worldly, it may be considered a crime but I dont know of anyone who lodges a police complaint in such dodge cases. So I was very clear in my mind when I wrote corrupt to describe to street vendors.

When I went back to PK for the last time ever 22 years ago I was cheated and lied to every single day and in every single transaction. From taxi drivers, to police, to custom officers, to Khansamas stealing my chit to porters etc. I for one understand exactly what you are saying.
