My comments are valid regardless if its a video between Churchill and JFK. Just because you have a masters from MIT that does not make you an expert or an intellectual when it comes to strategic studies, geo-politics or real politik.
The man while a brilliant scientist is not an expert or an intellectual on politics. He doesn't have the necessary academic/profession or educational background to be called such.
But the man (Hoodbhoy) DOES understand Jinnah better than most people do...Besides him being liberal and all does not mean that he is non-religious or pro-West in a negative or corrupt sense. some of us are too quick to see everything as just black or white.
Re: Imran Khan vs Pervez Hoodbhoy split: Swat Qaumi Jirga tells Qazi Hussian and Imr
Actually some of us aren't into hero worship because someone made one point or follows our line of thinking. The said problem with Pak Affairs is that the posters here support political parties and not principles or values. Hoodbhoy does not have the necessary qualifications to be an academic or expert in politics. Doesn't matter if he lived with Jinnah for all his life.
I mean seriously if you could become an expert on politics by doing a nuclear degree, why the hell do Havard, Georgetown, Yale and Princeton, John Hopkins pride themselves so much on their International Relation/Political Schools?
I can claim a lot of things on the internet, but my inference about your expertise goes on what you posted, and from what I remember once, you couldnt even do something (at masters level) which normally a freshman/soph engineer could do with his eyes closed:
Hence, I dont think highly of you when you make claims like oh I worked on a project which a prestigious top engineering school like Imperial couldnt come up with in ten years or some claim like that.
Re: Imran Khan vs Pervez Hoodbhoy split: Swat Qaumi Jirga tells Qazi Hussian and Imr
Simple:
Hoodboy is a professor... Its funny how 'some' people think just because he has a Masters or a PhD from MIT makes him some sort of intellectual. They are the same people who are categorizing Dr. Afia, who by the way also holds a PhD from MIT (she probably did better than hoodi) as jihadi. Secondly, the claim about him training n scientists in pakistan who worked for the n program is as laughable as the person who posted this absurdity. The man is a vocal critic of Pakistan's n program, and I can show you documentaries where he calls the top brass of the army as incapable of handling such powerful weapons.

He is right on some points; he has been a vocal critic of Musharraf and even the MQM for the terror and carnage they carried out; he criticized the HEC and Dr. Atta on plagiarism too; however he relies too much on the west thinking they will safeguard our interests, especially against India, which in the case of 1971 proved to be a huge mistake on the part of some. Thats not an intellectual inference, its political naivete. He should concentrate on his quizzes and lectures instead.
No big mystery about that, Im sure I remember those freshmen making the filters. I just havent got an electronics engineering background, and even at Phd level have only vaguely heard of Butterworth filters etc.
I didnt say the prestigious top engineering school like Imperial couldnt do it in ten years, just that they’re doing it now, which is just to say that the Hoodbhoy company aims to work at the cutting edge of technology. Im not sure what you’re actually disputing, that I dont currently work in this field?

which means that NONE of our MNAs is qualified to speak on international relations or politics...... and Immi only qualifies because he DID read international relations at Oxford!!!
Even our FM does not have a degree in politics/international relations. Zardari is a simple FA or FSC pass, Nawaz an ordinary graduate, Altaf and Qazi (God only knows) etc.
You don't necessarily need a degree in politics/international relations to be able to talk intelligently on these subjects. As long as you possess basic intelligence & commonsense and are a graduate from a good/sound institute, I believe you should be able to distinguish between good and bad policies. A finance minister does not have to be a leading economist as well, a health minister does not have to be a top doctor and so on...... that is the case even in Western democracies.
(ps. I support Imran btw (STILL somehow!!) but I am not a blind supporter unlike many others here who tend to view everything thru a rigid prism)
