Niharians will say he is copying Showbaz.
Re: what did we do to deserve..
sharif would soiling their dhotis going against militants and making such a statement.
Re: what did we do to deserve..
Talk is cheap, so let him go to FATA / north waziristan and do it and I'll give him kudos for it. It looks like he would be bailed out by the army there since he is one of the people who is keeping the anger on the US instead of the US - army / government deal that allow the drones to operate in Pakistan in the 1st place.
Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
Good step from Imran Khan.

Let the federal government do it in the areas under their jurisdiction. As even if he does this in FATA the detractors would find other excuses.
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
Haters gona hate :ik: is pawning them haha
Re: what did we do to deserve..
This is what needed for the poor families. Well done Imran Khan. Other bighairat leaders of Pakistan should also follow the same. Even if it is drama it is a good drama.
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
A slap on the face of IK & PTI performance !

Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
yes... this is a "slap" on IK... what about tons of slaps to Shahbaz Sharif that should've been happening from last 10 years? holding tens of ministries, making own son incharge of the provincial assembly etc.
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
Imran should keep on the Polio campaign going…
Dunya News: Pakistan:-Taliban warn Imran against supporting polio campai…
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
Its quite obvious that PML-N has lost its marbles with the election scrutiny noose closing fast around their neck…specially with the risk of their own speaker being caught with his pants down…which is why these days for them, everything wrong with Pakistan is because of Imran Khan.
Perhaps that is why the govt has pulled all security from Imran Khan, both at his home and during his travels, despite obvious threats to his life because of the polio campaign.
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
Lets see if any idiot finds the nerve to “protest” about this.
Major anti-polio drive in Peshawar next month
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will launch a massive immunisation campaign next month to provide oral polio vaccine to about 700,000 children in Peshawar district, officials say.
The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leadership is busy in hammering out modus ope***** of the campaign to be led by its chairman Imran Khan, they said, adding that it would be the biggest ever campaign in Peshawar, which is one of the five high-risk districts of the province.
**Last week Mr Khan had announced to lead the campaign after killing of two policemen protecting the vaccinators in Swabi and he subsequently inaugurated the drive in Nowshera. **
According to the officials, the PTI will lead the vaccination drive in Peshawar to stop transmission of the virus within three months. The World Health Organisation has already declared Peshawar as a polio reservoir besides saying that all 11 polio cases recorded by Afghanistan in 2013 belonged to Peshawar.
**Officials in the high-risk districts said that the federal government didn’t take interest in Mr Khan’s move though he had been widely acclaimed for lending his much-needed support to the campaign. **
Pakistan has recorded a total of 76 polio cases in 2013 so far. ** Officials said that the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, which had so far recorded 53 cases, fell in the federal government’s jurisdiction.** **They said that Sindh had seven and Punjab six polio cases, which meant the problem persisted nationwide and the federal government was required to throw its weight behind the PTI chief. **
The officials said that 16 volunteers and workers had been killed so far in attacks on polio campaign teams in the province. Relevant officials, who attended the meetings with key PTI leadership over the issue, told Dawn that a **special action plan for Peshawar was being prepared to make the campaign a big success. “The campaign will be remembered as the biggest ever in Peshawar,” they said. **
They noted that the sewage water samples collected from two points in Peshawar in the past three years had consistently been emerging positive for polio virus.
Although Peshawar has reported four of the total 10 polio cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the current year, it may not be the correct indicator to gauge the virus threat in the provincial capital. The presence of virus is not only putting the local children at risk, but the WHO says it poses danger of re-infection of children in countries long-declared polio-free.
**The officials said that being a popular political leader the PTI chief’s support would be quite helpful in allaying fears and misconception about polio vaccine and would help the health department a great deal in overcoming the challenge. **
“A new set of communication goals is being set and with Mr Khan personally leading the cause, we are certain that the challenge would be overcome,” they said.
**The officials said that the PTI leadership would involve the community in vaccination campaign and after Peshawar the entire province would see similar campaigns. **
**They said that they needed a charismatic man like Imran because the health department didn’t have any understanding of the reasons why the miscreants had been attacking polio workers. They said that the miscreants might be under wrong impression that polio eradication was a foreign agenda of harming children of this country or that polio programme was used for espionage in Pakistan. **
“We need Imran to remove such misconceptions,” said one of the officials.
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
There are challenges involved, no doubt, but PTI should put in all they have got to rid the province of Polio.PTI to launch ‘largest vaccination campaign’
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
This should not even be a news. No Taliban apologist, not even Imran Khan or Munawar Hassan, can oppose polio vaccinations.
What is interesting is that he STILL did not use the word 'Taliban' anywhere. He only criticized the 'killers'.
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
Had you actually bothered reading the news, you would've picked up something quite useful and informative to sooth your hatred. Peshawar is about have the biggest vaccination drive in the history despite all the threats and attacks. It's not about opposing or nor apposing vaccination, it's about actually doing something so effective, quick and urgently to fight the disease. This is the actuall fight against Taliban!
Shame that the politicians who have milked the term Taliban for marketing purpose never thought about doing this. Naive Pakistanis and their fascination with bogus political statements.
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
Can IK do something about stopping these merciless killings by people he supports?
Polio worker killed, two others injured in Peshawar firing - DAWN.COM
PESHAWAR: A polio worker was killed and two others injured Saturday when unknown gunmen attacked Peshawar’s Matni Hospital.
According to the police, unknown gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on entering the hospital and fled from the scene. Subsequently, one polio worker, Zahid Gul, was killed on the spot whereas Ward Orderly Niqab Khan and a woman sustained severe injuries.
The wounded persons were provided with medical treatment.
Meanwhile, policemen reached the site of incident and cordoned off the area while a search operation went underway to apprehend those responsible.
Polio workers, including females, have been targeted in Matni earlier as well.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack, but militants have killed several polio workers and police protecting them in recent months.
Earlier on Dec 21, unknown militants gunned down a polio worker in the Jamrud Tehsil area of Khyber Agency on Saturday whereas on Dec 13, gunmen had attacked two separate polio teams in northwestern Pakistan, killing one polio worker and two police guards.
Meanwhile, earlier on November 23, militants had also kidnapped teachers for supporting a polio drive but they were later released following a jirga intervention.
Pakistan is one of only three countries in the world where the polio virus is still endemic, but efforts to stamp out the crippling disease have been hit by repeated attacks on health teams.
Officials blame the violence and suspicions about the vaccine for a surge in cases. According to the World Health Organisation, Pakistan recorded 72 cases of polio this year compared to 58 in 2012.
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
Yeah he should wear the Superman T-shirt I sent him for Christmas and run around the streets with a machine in hand. :halo:
IK should upgrade the security of the polio workers, contact the army if he has to.
Re: Imran Khan vows to lead K-P polio campaign himself
That is what I get to each genuine question. How about at least condemning these mercilessly killings by people who he called ‘ghairmand’?
