:clown: and you make me laugh ![]()
Malik was the best (Pak) captain at a time and he can still beat (almost) anyone on any comparison. You doubt it, place a bet.
Tests (only 3 persons had achieved a succes rate more than 50% as captain)
Captain P W D L Success Ratio
Rashid Latif 6 4 1 1 66.67
Waqar Younis 17 10 7 0 58.82
Salim Malik 12 7 3 2 58.33
…
Imran Khan 48 14 8 26 29.17
ODI (success ratio more than 50% and more than 5 games)
**Name Year P W L D NR Success Ratio
Inzamam-ul-Haq 56 36 0 20 0 64.29
Salim Malik 34 21 2 11 0 61.76
Wasim Akram 109 66 2 41 0 60.55
**Waqar Younis 62 37 0 23 2 59.68
Moin Khan 34 20 0 14 0 **58.82
**Zaheer Abbas 14 8 0 5 1 **57.14
**Imran Khan 139 75 1 59 4 53.96

Re: Imran Khan unhappy with team's performance
oh come on now...y r u being so number driven...he captained only 12 tests and not that many ODIs...compare that to the likes nf IMRAN, WASIM, WAQAR and we see that yes their avg. is lower because they played much more then him...I mean you can be a fan of whom ever you like, but I don't agree...sorry UA bhai jan...
Re: Imran Khan unhappy with team's performance
lol.i am amazed that so many people would actually defende inzamam knowing that he is not the best choice as captain and that his captaincy was poor in this tour.Imran Khan does have a point,he was the best captain ever not just in pakistan and he is absolutely right in criticizing Inzamam.

I suggest you read this Imran Khan - Wikipedia
Imran’s win-loss ratio (14-8) would have been a lot higher if he had been driven by stats. He refused to captain Pakistan against NZ in 1989. Hadlee did not tour and Imran felt that the opposition was too weak and decided not to play. Miandad took over the captaincy and Pakistan won the series 3-0.
Imran Khan declared the Pakistan innings in the drawn match at Sialkot against SLA in December 1991 when he himself was nearing a hundred (93*)!!! Now tell me how many captains will do that? That shows that Imran played for the team and not for personal milestones.
Comparing the captaincy of Imran Khan and the great gambler Salim Malik is just laughable and it won’t wash with great cricketers (both past and present) and knowledgeable cricket fans. Richie Benaud once famously said that Imran Khan was good enough to lead any World XI in any era.
Salim Malik won mostly home series incl. the 1-0 win against Australia in 1995.
Imran on the other hand led Pakistan to their first ever away series wins against India (1-0 in 1986-7) and England (1-0 in 1987). Also Imran-led Pakistan were the only side who consistently challenged the might West Indies in the 1980s drawing three 3-test series (incl the away series in 1988).
Re: Imran Khan unhappy with team's performance
Yes who can beat Imran,
Malik, Ijaz and Akram (sometimes) have "mysterious" facts associated with them. Thats all I can say.
Now, for example, one "mysterious" fact (I discovered about some other Pak player) was about Younis Khan hitting big scores against 3rd-class opponents in ODIs. Now Younis is one of the best bats in the game, but a fact is a fact.
Other than that Imran was no doubt, the best captain. Rigt now, I disagree with him, IMHO Inzy is the best person to lead Pak right now. We played tests without our bowlers in Eng and the result was not surprising to me. With the inclusion of Asif (Shoaib still absent), Pak was a different side.

Your facts were simply wrong.

Imran Khan also thinks that Inzi is still the man to lead, even though he has to improve.
''Imran also disagreed with former captain Rashid Latif's comments that Inzamam should retire from Tests and concentrate on ODIs in order to extend his career. "He still is the best man to lead as he is the best batsman around. Inzamam needs to formulate things and needs to have better planning while playing international cricket and results will be better."
Re: Imran Khan unhappy with team's performance
prove it wrong. Give first 5 of his best ODI scores.
Re: Imran Khan unhappy with team’s performance
^ Go and look at the thread you opened. It is all there. I hadn’t realised that SA and India were 3rd class oppositions.
Imran Khan welcomes the introduction of inter-regional cricket
The earlier criticism of Younis Khan was justified because he had a habit of getting out in the 20s and 30s when he made his debut in 2000. All that changed when he was made vice-captain 2 years ago.
He was the top run-getter in the disastrous 3-0 whitewash in Australia and since then, barring minor hiccups such as the 2005-06 series against England at home, he has been a very consistent performer, scoring hundreds against India and England for fun and becoming Pakistan's most successful one-down in recent memory.
