guys, he is not attending because of the already-scheduled trip to Australia - as some of you have mentioned. PTI has been arranging that trip since September .... there are several events he is supposed to attend there.
Whereas this so-called in-camera session invitation was given a day or two before he was scheduled to fly to Australia .... that's unfair. If PPP wanted national figures all over the country to attend it, they should have given a prior notice so that they could have re-arranged their commitments.
PTI offered an alternative party leader to attend the session, but govt. did not accept it.
Exactly, one cant call off 10-20 events abroad just like that, especially when all arrangements have been made. Also, personally I dont think Zardari's calls for everyone to sit down will do any good, not after he continues to make frivolous statements that is doing the exact opposite thing of uniting leaders. His own ally Maulana Fazlur yesterday said he was extremely unhappy with Zardari's lambasting of Kashmir in the press. Bringing leaders together in this manner, I dont think it will work.
