Imran Khan is available, again

OK, now that the news of the separation is official how many of the guppans would consider Mr. Khan as a prospect?. What if he proposes to you…what would be your answer?.

Isn't Imran 50 plus now? Hardly a prospect as such. Unless he got a big Goldsmith settlement.

Xtreme, would you say 'yes' if he got a BIG settlement?

Where's Sandleen? :D

hmmm...I see this thread heading for Health & relationships. What do you think about that then fungo?

haiN - has he spilt up? why? what happened?

Xtreme, I knew you would move it after I replied to your post. :hehe:

Pakis can never take jokes.

If you really thought it belonged to Life, you would have moved before posting.

Bechaara.

Well no it belonged here anyway…I was in two minds then thought that joke is just too lame for General maybe it belongs in Lifestyles after all

Looking at the statement he made admitting it was his career that created hurdles...family, atleast spouse seems to be secondary in Mr. Khan's life. There aren't many who can live happily knowing their partners career comes before them. I don't believe I could deal with it.

Well marry someone who puts you before her career then. That way you won;t have to live with that left out, second-best feeling!

I'm sure there will be many many ladies who will still accept his marraige proposal though.

Imran is too old now, I would like someone who was born a decade later and lives a few oceans across him ..like brad pitt. Waiting for
him to dump jenny's ass. :p

There aren't many who can live happily knowing their partners career comes before them. I don't believe I could deal with it.

What does that really mean? I am passionate about what I do & also about what I wanna do ... so do I have to give it up just cos there are 'adjustment' problems with my wife?

Usually if a husband decides to stomp on the career dreams of his wife citing 'differences' he is considered oppressive, backward & a few more. Why isn't it the same the other way around. Shouldn't Jamima [ex Bhabhi] facilitate her schedule around his? It's not like she has a very demanding career of her own, ya know!

I think Jemima didn't fully comprehend what was expected of her in this marriage of cross cultures. She was thinking of marrying someone she loved who also happened to be a legend in his country and a future politician. Now, a politician in the west means his wife also accompanies him to most functions and gets to socialize and really play an important role in the political career of her hubby. What she got in Mianwali and Lahore is boredom. She could not accompany Imran to say his meetings with Maulana Fazlur Rehman or Qazi Hussain Ahmed. Going to Jalsa-e-aam in scorching heat and indisciplined crowds wasn't her cup of tea either.

So, in about 9 years, her dreams shattered and she decided to go back and live in England.

Who gets to keep the kids? I think he has two sons with Jemima.

What does that mean? It means that IF ever you had to choose between your wife and career which would you more readily give up?

There has got to be a balance between the two i.e. family and career. If you neglect one at the expense of the other the one being neglected will suffer and chances are you will lose the latter...be it your career or your spouse.

As for Imran and Jemima if she had a demanding career of her own it may not have come to this point to begin with. Being his wife there is a certain image she has to portray and lots of rules and regulations she has to abide by. If she had her own career that would have kept her occupied and Mr' Khan's engrossment in his career may not have mattered as much.

IF ever you had to choose between your wife and career which would you more readily give up?

It's not as black & white as you put it. If you were a low paying school teacher & you love what you do but your spouse wants you to quit cos he thinks you can do better than that … is it a fair choice between ‘spouse and career’? If you were a doctor & your spouse consider your profession too time consuming, would you just give it up? And how would you then answer a husband who consider a housewife the best option for his children & makes it into a decision of ‘home vs. career’ for the woman?

I don't consider work & my relationship to my wife on a level of competition, I hope she doesn’t either. Though I do consider my social life [volunteer work, play & continuing education] at odds with my work all the time and have to continuously make a choice between the two.

AJ did I once say who is right and who is wrong or if it's fair or unfair? Whether fair or unfair if you reach such a crossroad in ur life you obviously choose what is more important to you as did Imran and Jemima Khan.

Funguy you found him first, you keep him.

My friends come before my music, religion, job, and spouse (in that order but in reverse). It’s not a big deal. He messed up. That’s pretty much the norm for our Heroes. First Nuke Khan, and now Imran.
