Imran Khan as a coach?

We all know this is next to impossible with his involvement in politics and what not…but just HYPOTHETICALLY…what do you guys think…what kind of coach would he make? Would he be good for the Pakistani team?

I think he won't be bad as a PCB Chairman also.

imran wasim waqar no one wud b goin for coach or chairman ..

they knw our team cant do well so they dont wanna loose their reputation .. * bachii kuchiii izzatt ka kabara hojayega *

stop dreaming.

Well Imran was always against the concept of coach so why would he become one even if the offer is made?

p.s but then again weird things have happened in pakistan so dont count on it.

me thinks Imran wud be a great coach..He has the respect of everyone and the players might just flourish under him

betay....the way shoaib is these days, it will be either him or Imran to stay in the team. Since shoaib is the horse paki pace attack is riding on, Imran will have to leave the team. May be cricket, for the rest of his life. There have been bigger chaudhries in the game since Imran left it in glory.

true...but still I think he can lead...he is a born leader..and can instill integrity and can drive the team to perform better...but i dont see it happening so why even bother with this thread

nothin can be done wit opur peresent trema woolmer is one of the greatest coach is he cant help the boys well that what can
Imran is amazingf but just cuz one player is or was good doesnt make him a coach. U have to have patience and think like a coach to be a coach where u have to care biout every1's problems

I Doubt if Imran can be a good coach. The respect that he had in his playing days was because of his "danda" n not becuz of him himself.

How about bringing in wasim as coach ?

We need Khan Saab .. at a much higher post than coach. He needs to take charge of Pakistan Cricket Board.

imran was involved in way too many controversies when he was playing so he's gonna draw a lot of criticism. also great players don't have to make great coaches

^^ I agree with above two posters. Imran needs to be PCB chief so he can lift the bar for the domestic cricket. We need to rectify the root case of this poor performances on the international level.

Most of our final 16 players lack quality which requires on the international level. I mean come on, a coach is telling you how to play straight ????? There is something seriously wrong with our cricket system in the country. These types of technique is developed on the school level cricket in other parts of the world. A player playing domestic cricket should know the basics. There must be tough coaching on the under 14, 16 and under 19 level. This is the place where PCB should invest. Hire good coach at that level. Our Domestic A and B teams should be selected from the best lot available, which should go through extensive training and screening. And stop the parchi system for God's sake. And we also should have national A team as well, which would be the second best 16 players in the whole country. This way we can have the best of the best in the national team, to which we would not need a heavy weight coach but a sharp captain who can get the best out of that talent.

Under 14 (professional coach)
Under 16 (professional coach)
Under 19 (professional coach)
Domestic B selected from the local talents also contains the players from above three teams in their region (coach, the players already know the basics as they are coming from the Under* teams)
Domestic (regional and/or departmental, whatever setup we have, or with a little change) (coach)
Pakistan A (professional coach and trainer to groom the players for international games mentally, technically and physically)
Team Pakistan (Captain: A true leader, professional coach + trainner + physio)

If they send local legends like Saeid Anwar, Shoaib Mohammed, Aijaz Ahmed and others to overseas to get up to date with latest coaching techniques and technology and then have them assign to these Under* teams for minimum of 3 years, we would see a different Pakistani cricket. We need to invest on the grass root level with uptodate coachs, gyms, technology, analysing software, video aid etc etc so the teens can learn the in and out of the game at young age. When these kids get to the domestic or A team they already are physically technically and mentally prepared for big games. Later on we will see the professionalism when the come to the International stage. Both physical and mental toughness will make a huge difference.
