Different conversations have been merged together to form a controversial statement, tweets Alvi
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Alleged telephone conversation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and ex secretary general of party Arif Alvi post-PTV attack during D-Chowk sit-in has surfaced on Friday.
In the audio tape, Alvi tells Khan that the party workers have entered Pakistan Television (PTV). However, Khan instructs Alvi to maintain pressure on the government in order to get Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to resign and dissolve the assembly.
Earlier, PTI workers had stormed PTV headquarters in Islamabad on September 1 2014 as the demonstration of protest turned violent.
Alvi has tweeted regarding the controversy stating that he had resigned from a National Assembly (NA) committee because a huge file of telephone records was presented for probe. Another tweet states that he is a stickler for privacy. He further states that different conversations have been merged together to form a controversial statement.
PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry said that this is clearly a spiteful attempt to damage Khan s reputation. He said that the audio tape is a fabricated recording concocted after mixing up different phrases.
doesnt matter…at least khan sahib lie has been exposed. now pti is going to say is that this is a fake audio..does not sound like a fake audio? what do you think?
I am not sure about this one, but I do remember khan taking credit for the attack after it happened later he retracted his statement. I have been saying for long that what ever he did and said during that time would hurt him before the next elections. MQM was under pressure therefore released an early one.
To be very frank these kind of tapes don’t matter at all, Pakistanis have very short term memory. They’ll forget like they did for PMLNs attack on the Supreme Court.
Depends. PTI tanked our rating with Moody’s. Cancelled two foriegn visits. Got our currency to nose dive and set back economic progress by a year. I think they are doing a pretty good job so far.
PMLN government back to the good old 90s…when both these parties used to tape and blackmail their opponents, not to forget the pictures of benazir…according to IK the government wants to pressurise him on the judicial commission.
You know some anonymous person can hand over these things to anyone they want. Abidi of mqm shared the audio last night, some anonymous Twitter account had shared it a month back. The thing is that who would have the capability to tape private phones? We have seen all of this in the 90’s, times have changed but I guess Nooras haven’t. This is a disturbing trend.
