I don’t think anything would happen to MQM; situation is in front of you. Every one is scared of them, including the military. The best outcome would be MQM without their militant wing and altaf hussain. If they reform themselves I think they still have a role but I don’t see them moving towards that.

IMO they are not capable of a reform, even if you take Altaf away. The top brass of the party comprises of people who in some way made their way up through carrying out high level murders on the orders of Altaf. They can only replace Altaf, not replace the party’s militant ideology with a reformist approach.
Although I do think a little differently on things changing; the fact that Dr. Alvi managed to get PTI a win in an otherwise MQM stronghold (by stronghold I mean the influence MQM has i.e. ‘forced’ support they induce in their electoral constituencies) is a great sign! I think this is just a start, winds of change!

as MQM have rightly said, PTI should have taken permission and should have taken asheerbaad of MQM and Altaf Hussain. This is Karachi and not Lahore or ISB or any area in Punjab or Larkana where you can just have a Jalsa at your own terms…
They are lucky that Rangers have just got few success against them, MQM is still there, and they made their existence felt…
Now there are only two results of this election, either MQM/PTI won or it is RIGGED ELECTION and agitation for the loosing party…
For some reason, govt should postponed this election for two/three months and keep nailing and hitting the criminal elements of Karachi and MQM…

MQM candiadte from NA246 Kanwar Naveed declares MQM workers as his “Target Killers”
Waseem Akhtar justifying ghunda gardi of MQM workers by saying this is good and will keep happening.
While Nawaz Sharif supporters like Hanibal are overly excited about this development, they should keep in mind that their own workers were murdered by MQM not long ago and no one said that PMLN should have asked for MQM permission before holding rallies there.
I really hope PTI supporters don’t take things in their own hands and let the law enforcement agencies do their work.
