we can debate whether one wants to cling to power for vanity or because one feels (right or wrong) that they are needed to face the challenges a country is in. in both cases ppl are trying to cling on or get power, but diff motives. its all speculation though.
Those people need to be educated. Tech them common decency.
I could be really off. But i think there is a kind which can be used in pakistans benefit.
Like lal masjid kind. Because they are silly but not dishonest. They can let most important things in their life, go.
They wont love money or power as much as other politicians.
Just thinking.
I knew you felt strongly about it but i still said that
.
I meant was not the accomplished kind. But at the grass root level.
One thing I totally agree with musharaf is that "madrissa" are NGOs which have great potential.
Mush has mention that in few of his speeches.
I say we just don't know how to use it. Imagine that time in pakistan when every one wanted to be either doctor or Engg. I mean these kids at madrissa can used to for any kind of research in any field.
Fields where pakistani university students hesitate(no money in it) to go.
Altough Imran has every right to go after anyone and I know what my post will bring...here is my thinking;
What Pakistan accomplished from '88-'98 when all major parties i.e PPP, PML (N), ISI, Army and MQM went after each other gun blazing and all. Everyone attacked each other's leaders and heart. What did we achieve? What did the vendetta politics gave us? What is the legacy?
You can not use morals and politics in the same word. No one is an angel. We have to move forward and democracy has a funny way of showing fate to politicians. Tom Delay was like "God" in American politics just years ago, now he is no where to be seen. So, everyone gets his fate in the end.
My point is yes it is not ideal, but shouldn't we move on because it only brings stale mate and division. Haven't seen anything get done recently.
I say many many thanks to Allah that kalanaag didn't come to Canada for assylum, it would have been very difficult situation for Urdu speaking people. Most of them hate MQM here. We all live in peace, harmony and unity in Canada. MQM Canada is literally a mob of 15 members who are now in their late 30s and early 40s busy with cab driving and factory jobs. It has lost its small number of curious people it had attracted since they came in power in 2002. But org is completely isolated, dicarded and abondended by Urdu speaking people. The don't wanna hear word MQM.
Ironically, since May 12th 2007, Tehreek-e-Insaaf has gained tonnes here. It was a total surprise that PPP is down the hill as well as Nawaz party. The mass and silent majority (proudly 99.5% of the comunity in GTA) that never takes part in any Paki politics here has shown overwhelming interest in TI. The party's membership has grown upto 12 times since May. In private parties you hear people talk about alternative leadership and TI agenda and how the system can be improved etc etc.
Good to see the TI gaining big in GTA. The question remains, how many of those supporting the PTI for Pakistan from GTA are actually willing to do anything themselves to change Pakistan politically apart from perhaps contributing to making TI funds bigger and SKMH better or partying once in a while at rallies organized in the secure environ of Canada isolated from the harsh ground realities of Pakistan. Practicality eventually wins over theoretical idealism. People should know that and bring action and more contribution in human resource.
Otherwise, no matter who we support from wherever, Pakistan will always be a crooked ball in the hands of Altafs, BBs, Sharifs etc and new clean guys like Imran will also remain isolated with their delusions and illusions and fail to deliver or discover their potential without the right guidance.
P.S. Kindly be careful with the name calling etc for whoever. Its in violation of forum regulations and leads to warnings. Thanks.
