Re: Improper charity?
It remind me of a man I met a long time ago…
I have always been the sort to give to charity as and when the need comes. Now in my culture I have no shame in admitting that my ancestors were looters, centuries ago we were lordless barbarians and did many terrible things. I used to hear Mullahs butter the stories over and tell us that such actions had thier glory to them… but I never felt comfotable with it.
I finally met a guy who put some real sense into my head and heart… he told me that looted wealth could not be given to charity for it was tainted. Now anything you donate must be yours to give in the first place but you must also consider if it is gained by an Islamic manner.
If spoils from battle taken purely for reward and then sent to charity must be so scrutinized I see no reason why modern ways of obtaining funds must also be scutinized too.
There are many ways of rasing funds and stooping to was that are ignoble and fo against the basic tenets of faith can’t be right can they?
I am not saying this for certian only giving my opinion but I feel it is not right to go beyond the lines simply for charity there is so much you can do without resorting to haraam acts.
