I would love to take a few months (yes months!) off from life and live in some random surfing village and learn how to surf. Probably not going to happen since any decent surfing spot is overrun with people, and stupid life gets in the way. Maybe when I retire. I’ll have to bring at least 2 of my 4 wives with me.
I would LOVE to be able to take an extended trip to Costa Brava, Spain and study molecular gastronomy under Ferran Adria!!! El Bulli has closed down, so there goes one unrealized item off of my bucket list, but if even given the chance, I would run off to culinary school in Spain.
I’ve always wanted to do a 3-6 month voluntourism - sort of immerse myself in another place and “do good” at the same time. But a friend recently sent me an article that suggested that we of the Western world in our arrogance are doing more harm than good with certain voluntourism jaunts - our help isn’t nearly as helpful as you would think
But, yes if I could choose an improbable vacation, I wouldn’t go very far. Just rent a beach house along an ocean coast (could be Atlantic or Pacific) and try and write the next great novel. It’s improbable because as a working drone, such extended time off isn’t available to me, but a girl can dream can’t she :hinna:
sorry this is offtopic but i read the very same article (was it guardian?) about a year ago and it totally was an eye-opener! it’s why i would only love to volunteer in pakistan. it’s better when you know the culture and can empathise and understand the people well.

It probably was the same article - she wrote from the perspective of a white woman whose communication barriers and cultural lack of informedness meant she couldn't always communicate with respect to medical issues of patients to doctors and vice versa.
You’re really putting miles on that smiley aren’t you?
That would be great though. Up the cooking repertoire.
Same! I wish I could live for a few months in each of the countries I’m interested in. The writing career sounds good, perhaps something titled “Tales from the Trolley”. :halo:
Do you know how many chapters of ^ that book I’ve already written? I think you were late coming to my blog - I’ve already made a great start on that particular book

Except they'd judge you for your mahdren clothes and manly voice. Well, at least the clothes can be remedied. Chins up.
Lol it would definitely make for an interesting read. You should post some chapters on your blog. I’m dead serious, it would be interesting to read about (presumably) the worst of the desi rishta process.
I wish I could write fiction. My prose is better suited towards non-fiction but there’s a certain appeal to being a storyteller.
