WTH. They allow poor people to come into this country as foot stools, but when it comes to other situations like the student visa guy who is stuck now being a butt stool for some company who is tugging him along on a work permit, then oh well.

its not that easy - for one, you have to pay US market rate salary. if you can afford a $50,000 dollar a year maid, sure… but wouldnt you just have a amreeki maid for that price?
secondly you cant be a US citizen who lives in the US, or green card holder. you have to be someone here temporarily.

if the employer doesn’t pay, he/she may be arrested like the Indian Diplomat was arrested for paying less and for abusing her.
in a lot of cases, people have their relatives sponsored as maids and then taken advantage of…there are too many abuses out there.
the worst kind is when kids sponsor their parents/grand parents/aunts to come over and then they basically use them as nannies for their children and that too for free…almost!
this practice must stop. these maids are not helped, mostly they are abused and/or taken advantage of.

and yes i know many such shameless pakistanis who import these poor maids from pak and then make them work 22 hours a day 7 days a week
and guess what PCG…these shameless Pakistanis will be propronenet of change in Pakistaan…they want anaya Pakistan …you talk to them and they will lecture you on corruption in pak and blahblah…but they have no shame in admitting that they are doing the same by importing poor maids from pak

but i must say that this is more popular model in the indian community here in US…especially among educated ones. look i am not going to start another indian pak debate but i am just saying what i have seen it…seen many shameless indians who will import their old parents, will emotionally blackmail them by saying that you shd stay close to your grandkids and then make them work like servants in their homes…
why do you see this business model more in indian community? because almost every indian couple works both husband and wife whereas in pakistani families even in highly educated ones many women still stay at home

um.. in UAE, you can hire/sponsor maids of all kinds of nationalities - including pakistani.

People who are allowed to bring a maid would be rich enough to bring their wives legitimately they do not have to use this route.

And also because Indians are more frugal when it comes to money. Pakistanis, even when both parents work do opt for daycare but Indians do that after they have exhausted the other resorts mostly.
