Re: Importing a Wife to Britain
You need to prove that you can afford to survive financially so even if you are only on a temp contract at your current workplace then you can't be penalised for it especially if you have savings or other financial arrangements in place.
Not a wise move to throw away all your payslips, but luckily the BHC only look at the most recent sixt months worth of payslips regardless of how many you submit. You could get a letter from your current employer to confirm your employment history and status with them. You'll also need your P60 for the last tax year and bank statements showing your income going in.
Don't forget to include your weding photos, nikkahnama (original and translated attested version) certified copy of your passport, and your birth certificate.
Lastly, you need to prove you have suitable accomadation i.e a tenancy agreement, mortgage deeds.
Good luck!
Re: Importing a Wife to Britain
Brit Chick clearly imports a LOT of Pakistani wives. Bless her!
Ok I have a bad sense of humaour for saying import, I love her really, she'd be happy to know you was all defending her.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

You should have replied: 'Well I managed to import you'
That would have been funnier innit! We could have been married too! Too late now...
Re: Importing a Wife to Britain
......is it? I thought you could have up to four wives :p
Hiya! I'm a Brit (of Pakistani origin) who came to Pakistan and fell in love with a Pakistani (or rather my parents did for me) and I got married.
What's the procedure for taking her home to Britain with me and getting her a British citizenship?
I came to Pakistan about a year ago, before I came here I worked for the same company for about 5 years, then I left my permanent job and they took me on as bank staff (extra staff for when there is a absence/shortage of permanent staff) so that I've got a job for when I return to Britain.
Can I import my wife to Britain without a permanent job?
Will my company have a record of my payslips for the past few years as I've trashed them all?!
Thanks a million all for your help.
I'm very confused.
1.) You need to have a permanent job it does not matter if its part time, as long as its permanent and you (this year 09) are earning over 100 pounds a week.
2.) Proof of income and saving i.e. wage slips and bank statments, you need about £2,000 in saving.
3.) A property, with sufficient space for you and your wife to live in.
4.) You have very less out goings, and are not dependent on your family, i.e. if you live in your dads house you are not a burden on them.
5.) You taxes are all upto date.
6.) You need to speak to a immigration lawyer.
7.) You might need to higher an accountant.
8.) Poof of marriage, wedding pics, DVD, translation of the Nikah form.
Rest your lawyer should advice you.
Oh and ALSO, both you and your wife MUST be over 21!
and have kept contact since you left Pakistan.
