I have tried many times in the past to keep this forum clear of all political and religious tussles, and have tried to give everyone enough leeway in that. However, its clear that the message is not clear enough for some.
I am not calling for a halt to sikh/muslim/jew jokes. What im saying though, is that I have the ability and responsibility to differentiate between a joke that carries humor, and one that carries malicious intent. Making such a decision is my absolute discretion, as long as the Admin is fine with it. If the Admin feels otherwise, they will remove me from this forum. Till then, I stay, and the members will have to put up with my guidelines.
That said, Im going to make one final request to anyone who tries to post a joke with a malicious intent, not to do so…and you all know your intent before posting…and it is mostly clear to the readers as well.
If anyone tries to turn this into a political stage or a religious mockery theater, I will ask the Admin to restrict their access to this forum. Simple as that. People come to this forum to escape the crap they see in politics…not to hit the same thing headon.

So Sikh jokes are humor..way to relieve tension and muslim Jokes carry malicious intent that is why my perfectly funny jokes with muslim names are locked and Sikh jokes are left open. I guess telling Sikh jokes to pass time is a perfectly great way to amuse fellow countrymen.
I really don't care if you ban me because i have used muslim names in my jokes for the sake of fairness and equality. I believe that people who tell jokes about other religious group should be able to take jokes aimed at their own religious group.
If u object aganist muslim jokes for any reason, fair thing to do would be ban all jokes that name any religious group instead of using your selective personal judgement and power to measure the intent of participant and brand some jokes as malicious and allow others to posted.
Being a Sikh i find most Sikh jokes sterotyping Sikhs as stupid very offensive and negative ..please don't tell me (or preach me) not take them personally and laugh them off. If anything preach your own people first, the same people who don't think twice when posting a Sikh joke ( a way of life for them) and jump up and down and come out in hordes protesting and bad mouthing, when somebody posts a muslim jokes.
Lets have one rule for everybody, either allow everybody to post reasonable normal jokes about other religious group or allow nobody..using your own yardstick and power to allow and disallow jokes as u seem fit, reeks of hypocracy and religious bigotary.

P.S. I guess i have tried to answer your why in my note but you only want minorities to be tolerant and majority to rough shod and their way. Quit asking me questions if u are not interested in my answers.

Well Akif bro Im with your decision but you have to make one commitment being a mod that if there is a thread relating to other religious puns (for example Sikhs are the common case), you should warn them and take the same action as you take towards material making fun of Muslims or Pakistanis. Because in past we have seen many "Sikhs" threads being gettin away. Im not saying that it is your sole responsibility and I expect my other brothers and sisters to take care of this thing aswell.
It's time for giving and taking. You can't expect to be superior religioiusly or ethnically just by anything else but your own virtue and behaviour. I mean thats the basic teachings of Islam we all believe on.
As far as Rani, you are concerned; I supported you in your thread but I think as a dear member of this forum and a civilized person I expect you to ignore all this and show what are you capable of (not Sarcastricly) but love and tolerence.
I think I have had my say and I don't expect no one to agree with it. It's just what I think.

The thing is.. most people here who post sikh jokes, post them just to have a laugh.. and not to degrade any other culture/religion/anything.., But when Rani posts a joke, her sole intention is to get even with those who are posting sikh jokes.

I dont auto delete Muslim or Pakistani jokes. Take a look and you will see plenty of those around. Its not about a particular sect or religion or country. Its about keeping it funny. When someone crosses the line over from funny to malicious, thats where I jump in. Im not here to take sides. Fact is, Indians are more welcome on these forums than pakistanis on any indian forum.
If you make fat jokes in general, everyone would know ur being funny, and would have a laugh. But if you pointed out to the fat guy among the group and made the same jokes, that would be malicious and offensive. Im sure we all understand the difference.

I think it would be fare enough if every one could change the pointers in jokes to common names instead of the names of the groups. (Wouldn't it be fun if no one of us would use sikhs and no one out of any other groups would use our religion's name)
I mean Rani might be telling the jokes the way they are told back at her place as we tell them the way they are told down in our place(using sikhs). It would be better that you post another post addressing all members to avoid using group names to satisfy and entertain ourselves.
I know it sounds so funny if their is the mention of a sikh in the joke because it has become a norm for us & I also know that none of these jokes are meant to hurt the feelings of any sikh (I mean i tell them all the time) but the thing is that if some one is getting hurt then why not find a way to change it in a way that it can still be fun and also not offensive to any one.
So please TRY CHANGING THE SIKHS TO A SIMPLE RAZI OR HARRY IN THE JOKES and even if then some one like Rani tries to use pointers then kick em out.
