^ if you remember the name of the movie, let me know. We are actually amazed at th etalent in Middle east - Iranian, Israeli, Palestinian(or some other country), then Greek, Japanese, Chinese. Put Bolllywood to shame. So without sounding too corny, I think there is lot of talent out there.
In the 21st century, people believe showbiz is a good industry where you get respect, money and fame. Almost everyone in the world watches movies, listens to music etc. And people idolize the people in show biz. I can't say the same for some conservative minded people who will watch movies but look down upon the people working in them. Doesn't make sense. I'm an aspiring filmmaker so my view is pro showbiz.
Movies, music etc promote culture to a huge extent. The entertainment industry gives the economy a huge boost and also becomes a soft power for some countries.
But again I'm not a Muslim so my view isn't really relevant.
What do you mean think? think? its not a thinking, its a ruling
watching dances and any of that sort is also prohibited
Islam applies all across the board my friend
One thing i dont understand is people without complete and proper knowledge of islam come up and pass baseless comments
i can understand that muslims think performing arts - dance, music, acting - are not good, and consider it a big no-no for their kids and family in general to get into.
what i can't understand is why there is no taboo on watching any of these. if you can indulge in these "vices" on a daily basis and still be considered a decent person, at least have the courtesy to appreciate these professions as legitimate, and give the artists their due respect.
if you think doing intimate scenes with random men/women earns you respect, then im afraid your definition of respect is totally messed up imo

Can a culture thrive without a show business industry? I'm referring to actors, actresses, dancers, singers, etc.
Would you push your child into show business?
Is it wrong to be Muslim and wanting a career to be an actor/ actress, dancer, singer?
the case study should be Somalia & Afghanistan. Now can you remember anything culturally important generated from these nations?
There is nothing wrong with it being Muslim and in showbiz, IMO.

o sir je, do you even have a beard? islam might apply all across the board in theory, but most muslims i have come across in my life are just normal people who do most things i do too. don't muslims watch movies, listen to music, dance at their weddings etc? i have nothing against those that choose to practice what they preach, but when you are a big shahrukh fan and what not, and then insist music and dancing is evil, me no likey.
