i took 1000cc and iron supplements for a month only after c-section, few months ago i had severe backache n started feeling weak so i took calcium & vit. D supplement again only for a month, my back felt alot better during that month. a few weeks back i started feeling tired & a little light -headed esp. early in the morning. so now my back pains continuously, n sometimes feel as if i might pass out i feel better after drinking any kind cold beverage. so did any of u go through all or some of these symptoms? i think im anemic, coz i also nurse my 6-month old. should i see a dr or restart taking some supplements?
Re: importance of postnatal supplements
I had similar symptoms and I wouldn’t take supplements regularly. Back, shoulder pains were very common. I saw a doctor and she put me on a supplement that I took regularly and now feel a boost in my energy level. Do discuss with a doctor and also take supplements. She may recommend tests to check your iron level too
Re: importance of postnatal supplements
Are you eating good? I drink apple juice with my lunch and dinner, somewhere in the middle OJ. try eating apples as frequently as I can otherwise I would eat some other fruit, one fruit everyday, an egg for breakfast with wholegrain wheat bread, milk in the morning and at night, for snacks i am eating nuts, carrots with humus dip, i eat a proper dinner with pitta and whatever salan or hearty soup, or make vegetables stirfry with fish. In the first two months, I consumed lot of spinach, and other green vegetables. Alhamdulilah, I am healthy.
I would suggest you improve your diet, take supplements, and check with a doctor to make sure what you are doing is enough.

Are you girls taking OTC supplements or prescription? My body still aches after 1 year, I guess I need to call my doc n check with her.
