Fashion to me is all about your on personal style and individuality, I love some of the latest fashions nad some i do not, but I most of the time go with what i feel comfy with.

First of all, we have to define fashion as it's a very broad term. Let's presume that by fashion u meant prevailing style (especially in the area of clothing). The imporatnce of fashion has to be what people consciously or subconsciously enjoy about it; or the benefit they get out of its pursuit. So, we may narrow down your queries to 'Why follow fashion?"
Now, if by fashion as defined above u mean " (constantly changing) trend, favoured for frivolous rather than practical, logical, or intellectual reasons" , then I may not favor fashion at all. But, there is something peculiar to all human beings that can partly be explained through the 'doctrine of aesthticism'. It's the sensitivity to artistic or refined taste. Now, what's refined or artful can be a topic of much controversy. But, we all feel attracted to the beautiful. As you have your own defintion of the beautiful, so you must have your own fashion tendencies. So, it's your personal statement. I know the answer leaves much to be desired. It was just an attempt to put things into perspective.
