Immune Boosters for Kids

I’ve found that ensuring my daughter takes a multi-vitamin everyday as well as some other seasonal supplements, like Echinecea at the start of cold and flu season, keeps her relatively protected from picking up bugs that generally go around. Of course I can’t keep her well all of the time but for the most part we do okay.

What vitamins and supplements do you give your children? Are there any natural supplements that you swear by? For example some people believe that taking honey every day has it’s benefits.

Immune Boosters for Kids

Multivitamins doesn’t do anything … It’s just a waste if money FACT

Re: Immune Boosters for Kids

I’ve heard mixed things about the efficacy of vitamins. Never heard anything negative about honey though. If Allah has said that honey healing for mankind in the Quran, then it is. Sadly, the honey bees are dying out.

Re: Immune Boosters for Kids

My experience has been otherwise.
And yes…if you are concerned with brands then it is very likely that you will be wasting money.

In addition to the honey, I’ve also heard that having a pinch of kalonji is very beneficial for the immune system. Anyone have any details on that claim?

Re: Immune Boosters for Kids

My do for has told me to give my children vitamins and I do that. Yes, you don’t need vitamins if you eat a balanced diet but who does ESP kid?

Re: Immune Boosters for Kids

agreed!
I have yet to come across a child that is willing to eat a well-balanced diet…
And yes…most vitamins are not absorbed to the full degree by anyone’s system and some do get flushed out of our systems too soon but I’d rather take them than not.
