I believe that anything which we utter in our daily life might effect us in future even if we don’t really mean what we say in a joke.
There are so many things people say in a joke which might provoke them to fancy it or commit a sin as the devlish forces are always after us.
For Example.
I have seen people fighting (in a joke) over their favourite actress / actor. They used to to say things like “He is all mine” or " I would marry him/her" and some of them actually got seriously very emotional about them in future. At times one feels that they might not even remember their God as much as they think and talk about those people, in daily life. (Ma’azallah).
Also I came to know that alot of people who get involved in homosexuality were actually those who first started talking about it just for fun, like in college,…etc
