It happened to someone I know. Guy from Canada married girl in Pak. 2 years later she got her visa. She didn't even tell her husband when she got her visa and landed in Canada. Her brother picked her up secretly from the airport. She got her PR card and after getting it she called her husband and told him that she had landed and had filed for divorce because she hated him and she had no intention staying with him.
Totally agree with Niks and Reha!! Times are definitely changing. I know of one such example that is playing out right now...guys family secured a rishta with a girl from Pakistan who wanted to be a doctor. The girls family kept stressing that her education not be halted and that she be allowed to practice. The grooms family had no issue with that at all. They got married, she got her green card through him, she passed her USMLE, secured her residency, is now well on her way to becoming an anesthesiologist and promptly dumped him. She's moved two states away, called her own parents over from Pakistan and has served him with divorce papers.
How do you know that marriage didn't have internal problems? Maybe she was planning on marrying him for real reasons, but the marriage didn't work out, and she just waited for the green card before leaving him?

I don't know for sure. I can only go by what the husband and his family told and as I've known them pretty much my whole life, I have no reason to doubt them. Obviously it takes two to tango, but you opened a thread asking why immigrant wives are not held to the same scrutiny and suspected of only being after green cards and I provided you with an example of where the grooms family is claiming that was the case with them.

He sounds like a very cooperative man. The 'internal problem' that comes to my mind is her not finding him interesting enough or something.
