imli sauce

how should i make imli sauce? the one you pour over dahi ballay and stuff.

  1. Boil the Imli
  2. Add Gurr or sugar, for best taste add perfer Gur
  3. Add Zeera powder, Red chilli, Salt, Ginger Paste one table spoon in 250Gm of ilmli
  4. 2-3 table spoon of vingar

Again cook the mixer for a few mins and stirr continously

Use the steiner to separate the seeds. :slight_smile:

Its the simplest imli sauce recipe but they way i make i add 50gms of dried apricots when boiling the imli … :slight_smile:

Recipe Ingredients

  • Tamarind 250gm
  • Jaggery 250gm
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Dry ginger powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Sugar 2-3 tbsp

Recipe Method

  1. Soak tamarind in 4-5 cups of water and squeeze out all the pulp. Put in
    a clean pan with the jaggery, red chili powder, ground dry ginger,
    cumin powder, salt and sugar and let cook till thick. Strain through a
    sieve and bottle when cool.

sounds yum but I dnt have gur, or ginger paste and no zeera powder for that matter :bummer:
