I saw my cousin was wearing it before going for umrah, my khala was putting some money on that, and saying you people don’t wear it, what it is all about? and yes i have seen people also wear it in their wedding. what is the history behind this? what is actually imam zamin is?and why people wear it in wedding and like my cousin she was wearing it before leaving somewhere

and do you people do the same?

nope...i consider this as bid'a...i think mostly ahl-e-tash'ii tie imaam zaamin on the arms.

it's kinda "protector" from accidents, bad happenings, misfortunes...etc.

zaamin kaa matlab hai zamaanat denewaalaa/waali shai...Imaam [Shi'a imaam] sort of guarantees the safety. it's usually tied on the traveler's arms before the initiation of a journey. it's nothing to do with Islam and everything to do with bid'a.

^ Yes, Imam Zamin has now became fashion in wedding to tie it on right arm. Sunnis use the label of Masha Allah. They don't donate or wrap money in that.

i didnt see what was written there, but khala was putting money on that, talking about sunni :$ i think protection was the reason maaz ALLAH

It came from Persia.

I remember wearing it once during my childhood when I was travelling abroad from Pakistan, don't remember who put it on. As far as marriage is concerned try tie something which is called gaana, don't know the significance most probably just a cultural thing.

Apparently it also exists in Indian culture in the form of Rakhi (not the chooRi Rakhi Sawnat).

not really...Imam Zamin has a religious belief that Imam [through Allah's will] will protect a person while Rakhi is a cultural thing where a brother is supposed to protect his sister as far as humanly possible. there is no divine help sought in doing so.

There might be some equivalent in Hindu religion, but this specifically seesms to have come through shiaism.

If Rakhi is just cultural thing, then why those Indian who converted to Islam abandoned it?

and yes its cultural, culture of seeking refuge in things alien to Islam.

kehnay walay kuch had tak sahi kehtay hain, Islam Iran main pohonch kar beemar huwa aur Hind main wafat pa gaya.

Just a random queston. kiya Islam Arab main ussi halat main zinda hai? Karbala ke waqae main Islam ke sath jo huwa uss ko beemare kahen , coma kahen, sakraat kahen ya kuch aur?

mohtaram, aik kahawat hay jo repeat ki hay. na to mera theka islam ka Arab ka hay na Pakistan ka : )

aur agar Karbala main ya uskay baad bhi, Coma ho ya Sakraat (?!?) ye nai batain ijaad karnay aur deen ka huliya bigarnay ka license nahi ban sakta

janab maine to uss kahawat kehne walon se sawal poocha tha, aap ko quote kar ke. jab aap Iran aur Hindustan ke Islam per (kisi had tak keh kar) inna lillah bhej sakte hain to main ye samjha shayad aap Arab ke Islam per bhi comment dene ki position main ho.

iss jura;at per maazrat khuwah hoon. umeed hai bura nain manaen ge :hug:

Not at all. No need to apologize. I just wanted to understand the thought process about distinguishing single religion into different regions from the perspective of people living in a particular region. I mean Arab's take on Persian and Indian Muslims and their faith.
