Imam Zainul Abideen's sermon in Syria

You know what the interesting thing about these political discussions is? It involves people who form the basis of reporting ahadith. So taking political side of those times pretty much establishes which section of ahadith-narrators one follow.

You can not just sit on the sidelines calling "sub achha" when those people who form the basis of Islam were fighting amongst themselves and killing each other. You need to take sides.

By the way, talking about "arab tribes", it reminded me of what some people said about why they did not accept Ali as their Imam. They said they did not like to see both prophethood and imamate be confined in one family (of Banu Hashim) alone.
If you want to blame people for talking in tribal sense then you need to blame the Prophet of Islam first (naoozobillah). Because it was he who made Ali the Maula of every Momin and also made him his Wasi (heir).
