Imam Mahdi

I dont know if somebody has already asked this question or not if so then can someone please post the link for the tread.

When Imam Mahdi comes is he going to be considered a nabi or an umahtee? and also is Jesus going to be considered an umahtee or a nabi?

As far as I know Imam Madhi (a.s.) won't be considered as a Nabi but as a Guide, an Imam.

Oooh ok that makes more sense. I had overheard a conversation between a group of people which were arguing that the belief of Imam Mahdi and Jesus coming back contradicts the fact that their will be no other nabi or prophets.

And might I add, that Nabi Isa (as) will not come back as a Nabi, but as a Wali. For Prophethood was sealed with the advent of Rasul-Allah (saws).

Nabi Isa's (as) mission in returning to this world is not to relay a message, for the message has already come. His first objective is to kill the false one the imposter al-Masih ad-Dajjal, and then a sequence of various other events until he lives a full, natural life and passes away from this realm into the next one al-barzakh.

I believe Imam Mahdi (as) is a Hasani-Husayni Sayyid who will be sighted at the Ka'ba and people will notice him. And the Munafiqeen known under the leadership of al-Sufyan (a descendant of Abu Sufyan) who will be Muslims will come down in a huge army in the attempt to kill al-Mahdi (as), but will fail as they will be swallowed up into the desert, and one or two will escape so that they may tell their leader al-Sufyani of what happened and i'm sure you know the rest as you have studied the ahadith that are found in our Sunni sources.

I don't know WHO he is, so why are you asking me this question, you talk as if you know who he is...

By the way, in relation to your previous comment, 'alaiyhis-salaam' is also used for Imam Mahdi (as).

So you tell me what is the harm in using 'upon whom be peace' for Imam Ali, Imam Husayn, Imam Hasan, Bibi Fatima az-Zahra upon them all be peace???

Just because Radi'Allahu anh' or Radi'Allahu Anha are used does not mean that Alaiyhis-Salaam is forbidden to be used for such pious people.

In regards to what Mulla from Denmark has said....

Imam al-Mahdi (as) is not a Nabi naudhubillah he is like one blessed drop from the ocean of the Prophet Muhammad (saws). He will be on Haqq and his purpose will be to destroy all falsehood in the world. This is why he is called The Rightly Guided One (Al-Mahdi) alaiyhis-salaam.

I have never objected to putting alaihis salaam for any of Ahle-Bayt. Show me if i have.

However, i remain adament that you by no means, appear to be a Sunni, atleast not of any type we know of.

What do you say about the Ahadeeth that say it would be jews who will attack Makkah under the leadership of Dajjal. From where have you deduced the Sufyani theory?

I asked you this question because i wanted to know if you beleive, Mahdi has already been born and was the son of Imam Hasan Al-askari and is presently in occultation.

Fair enough. There are ahadith from clear Sunni sources showing that as-Sufyani will be those of the first to fight against Imam al-Mahdi (as), as they will be Munafiqeen. It is also true that many Jews, 70,000 of them from Isfahan will come to join al-Masih ad-Dajjal, and so forth.

I dont think there is any dispute regarding the coming of Imam Mehdi(as)
only difference is that shias believe that he will be their 12th Imam and sunnis believe that he will be a great Mujadid

What is a Mujadid?
Also is their such a thing as a umatee nabi? I heard this from an Ahmadi once that the door to prophethood is not closed and their will be umatee nabis. He gave me a ton of references from Imam Bukhari hadiths which I have never heard and he said that the Prophet himself predicted this and again made reference to Imam Bukhari hadiths.

^ ummati Nabi is their concept to justify prophethood for MGA Qadiyani.
