Imagine......

“Imagine there’s no country
And no religion too…”

Imagine by John Lennon

And I know what you are thinking, so I will say it for you by Quoting John Lennon again

“You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the Only One…”

Anyway…my Question is What if there were no countries and no religion…Would men/women still fight? Is it in our very nature to be aggressive and competitve and feel superior than the other that we would still clash with others? Or would we be ideallic, peaceful, kind, helpful blah blah.

Also…if there were no countries…would we have achieved all this advancement…technological, scientific, medical? Is all this advancment attributable to competitiveness between nations?

What do you all think?

Re: Imagine......

if there were no countries and no religion, people would find other means for arguments/dissagreements and fights. I guess its in human nature.

Re: Imagine......

Thanks desi angel, but would the disagreements/fights have been as severe? Would it cause as wide rifts in humanity? Could the elements of forgiveness overpower the enemity caused by these types of fights?

Re: Imagine…

imagine

imagine there was a man
imagine there was a women
imagine they both loved each other
imagine they wanted to live forever
imagine they had everything
imagine there was only happiness and joy
imagine what else could you imagine
imagine that you had no imagination

it’s all that you imagine :hehe:

Re: Imagine......

religions and countries emerged from diferenciation between people as time went by, and human population grew. If there were no "countries" and no "religions" there would still be some "tribes" grouping into larger groups similar to countries or kingdoms, because humans needs to group and feel it with distinct identitites from other groups

In addition, religion is just one way to have a group a social set of norms (moral, law) and that is needed to maintain the group unity and identity. It is furthermore necessessary for complex social structure such empire, which means the most people are part of a group and living in a tigh space (better example=China), the most strict rules need o be enforced, be it through religion, or through other forms of ideology (used to be confucius or taoism, then maoism..)

Re: Imagine......

then we'd fight over the color of the skin/hair/eyes....

what did abel and cain fight over????

Re: Imagine......

Who were they? Another fairy tale?

Re: Imagine......

Imagine there is:

One religion
One colour
One tree
One flower
One fruit
One person
One Sex
One member
One moderator
One joke
One type of food
One disease
One animal
One season

Sab kitna bore hota.

Re: Imagine......

It's the survival of the fittest. Yes people will still find reasons to argue and fight with each other. But without this competetive nature I guess the technological advancement would not be possible.

Re: Imagine......

aye! for a large part of our lives we do things just to pass time and make our lives interesting and meaningful.

Re: Imagine......

totally agreed!

Re: Imagine......

great!.....it will be nice.

Re: Imagine......

this also correct.

Re: Imagine......

Those who adapt to change survive. It is has nothing to with being fit or strong.

Re: Imagine......

but if two entities both adapt and one is stronger..it has the upper hand

Re: Imagine…

:k:

weak can not adapt to change, it’s reason why as people get older they are more and more conservative: their brain and body become less fit to adapt to change, so they try to avoid change!

adapting to change takes energy, intelligence, only fittest can do it best

Re: Imagine......

We are pack animals, we need an identity to belong to and uphold or we become unambitious, disillusioned and disorientated, without identity life would become useless for us, it's in our natures.

Subhan Allah, it just occured to me Islam truly is Deen el-Fetrah (way of instict) because it satisfies all human instincts in a positive way, the need to be part of something and uphold is human nature, but whilst the Non-Muslims will satisfy this with exclusive/racist groupings based on common color, nation, tribe, language or land. Islam gives humans the healthy universal option which does not discrimante or exclude but opens its arms to everyone and seeks to unite everyone across the globe..

Re: Imagine......

Why can we not be satisfied with belonging to the identity of the human race. Why do we need to fit into certain moulds created by ourselves race, religion, colour, nationality....otherwise we are hanging in nowhere land. If we do not fit into those moulds, then we desapair...why can we not appreciate our own uniqueness?

Theoretically, yes Islam does overcome race, colour discrimination, but practically its a whole other ball game. I see converted Muslims who are not give time of day simply because they do not belong to a certain colour. Right at my backyard.
