Well, everyone I know reads it in Arabic with translation. The Urdu script is based on Persian and Arabic. The fact that you refer to it as ‘that thing’ says a lot.

what does it say exactly? its a book. its not a human being. it is an “IT.” It’s a thing.

Ask anyone who knows both Urdu and Arabic and they will tell you that many Urdu words, not just ones pertaining to Islam are the same. So again, the real question is, why were the words messed up? Probably because the sounds did not fit.

I suppose you are talking about anthropology and sociology and how things develop in cultures. Actually, arabic words came from hebrew. Including words like Salam Alaikum for starters. Did the prophet mess up the words there? why don’t we say those words like the hebrew folks do? truth is, in urdu it IS ramZan.

As a Muslim, Arabic comes first. I don’t see any other cultures, such as my Malaysian friends having a problem with the correct Arabic words for anything to do with Islam.

in your OPINION it comes first, and your’e entitled to that opinion. people seem to think this particular opinion is a fact for EVERY living thing, including squirells. as a human being, urdu comes first to me. im sure allah mian won’t condemn me to hell because i DONT think arabs and arabic is superior to me.
