I'm thinking to do...What u guyz say?

:salam2:

Listening, reading and watching news about the victims of flood disaster in Pakistan make pain in my heart or mera dil khoon ke ansoo rota hy, I’m thinking to visit Pakistan to help needy peoples. I know alone i can’t do anything but i think out of 100, maybe 10 or let say 5 pplz will agree with me (living here) to visit Pakistan on volantary basis. This what i came up with an idea to help.

  • First of all, I will seek permission from concerned dept. to hold campaigan regarding collection of donations i.e. cash, cloths any good relief items.
  • We’ll try to open a information desk in Malls, Market i.e. difference places and distribute the exact information (latest information about the damages, losses caused in Pakistan) to raise charity, donation, relief good as well as encourage others too to participate with us.
  • Secondly, PIA is taking relief items free of tax to Pakistan.
  • Thirdly, to find out a save place/shelter in Pakistan, i.e. school, Madrassa, hostel etc where we can move pplz.
  • forthly, make one of them to monitor sheltered pplz. We’ll come back and raise fund and sent it to that monitoring person to help them.
  • We’ll visit occasionaly to difference places and repeat these step.

Your valuable comments will be highly appreciated. Please share your ideas, views, suggestions.

P.S. No un-necessary flooding please. Thank you.

Re: I'm thinking to do...What u guyz say?

Walaykum as salam

To be honest I think you're doing far more there than you can do in Pakistan. I read in your other thread (In Just Two Hours) about your fundraising efforts Mashallah. There are already a lot of volunteers in Pakistan and things similar to what you have listed are already being done.

Also, every dollar you collect there is 80 plus Rupees. So it's better you stay there and send dollars than do volunteer work here which is already being done a lot.

Desposit your money to credible organizations (like army, Edhi etc) and they are already carrying out efforts in an organized manner, so let them handle...

-- my two cents :)

p.s. your Jazba is commendable, Mashallah :)

Re: I'm thinking to do...What u guyz say?

I agree... for this kind of aid (moving people to safer locations etc.) we need to work with the already-established trusted organizations or the army.

Thanx and i agree.

Now, i'm collecting used cloths, food items and medicines as well as cash donation too which i send to Pakistan and for this purpose I already obtained permission from concerned authorities.

I informed my family members too to inform all pplz they knw and thy can drop cloths, medicines and food items at my home which i'll dipatch day-by-day.

Re: I'm thinking to do...What u guyz say?

Re: I'm thinking to do...What u guyz say?

The concern authorities now refused to accept used cloths. I hope every1 aware about it. Instead of used cloths they are acceptiong now:

  1. Water Coolers
  2. Footwear for Children
  3. Blankets
  4. Floor MAttresses
  5. Cooking Utensils
  6. Mosquito Nets
  7. Bed Spreads

Re: I'm thinking to do...What u guyz say?

if you've collected used clothes and want to donate them anyway, you might find some agency that is still collecting.

Actually only the PIA board these stuff free of cost to various ports in Pakistan and they required permission letter from concerned department. Secondly, mostly pplz are donating cloths which in shabby condition i means they donate those things which they already they are goint to throw-out while cleaning their homes. This is not acceptable.

What is use of a third-class cloth which pplz r going to donate and no1 will gonna wear it there. Instead of this the requested to donate the above items.

Re: I'm thinking to do...What u guyz say?

hmmm... i see what you are saying... so what will you do with the clothes you've collected? i guess you could just donate them to Red Cross and change your collection strategy so you're not collecting clothes anymore...

good luck with your noble efforts :)

One of my neighbour going to Pakistan I handed-over to her so she can dispatch it to it destination.

On the box i wrote the address of NDAMA so i think there would be no problem at all.

P.S. Thanx :aliyish:

Re: I'm thinking to do...What u guyz say?

So glad to see you so concerned about the flood victims lethal. MashaAllah! Allah aapko aapki naik niyati ka ajar de, Ameen.

Collecting and sending donations in form of material is much much better than just money because those victims need immediate help in form of food, shelter, rescue boats and clothes, and with money they can't do much right now because everything around them is drowned. Where and how will they buy anything?

It's a good start that you have already started collecting materials. The bigger job now will be sending it all to them and making sure it has reached them.

Thanx :aliyish:

Now these days i’m trying to get approval to hold a small information stall regarding ‘flood vitcims’ in various malls where i can inform pplz what exactly victims are facing difficulties in pakistan as well as whats the great challanges are in front of Pakistan.

Unfortunately, the host authorities still not giving permission to hold such kind of infomatic stall. I trying my best to push it 4rward to get permission and i think this is the best way to pass information how pplz can help the victims.
