Re: Im taking the step
Hope all of you had a nice holiday week- mine was tough as my taya had a heart attack and was admitted inthe ICU and we were in and out of the hospital from the 26th through last nite. Allhamdullilah he is recovering now. My packages from Sila and eshakti arrived on friday the 31st of december, i missed the one from salwar as that was by DHL so i think they will re-attempt the delivery today. Will post all my comments this evening.
Re: Im taking the step
My feed back on my online desi shopping experience!
E-Stores- Eshakti.com, sila.com, salwar.com
1. Actual piece v.s picture on site- Accuracy.
All sites 100% accurate in image.
2. Actual piece v.s description on site- Accuracy
All sites 100% accurate in description.
3. Fit
I had ordered ready to wear size M at all sites. The fit at eshakti was the loosest on kameez, salwar.com fit was a bit A lined in cut but not as loose and had more shape on waist, Sila was most fitted and shaped.
4. Customer service during the order to delivery time.
Via email- got a response within 24 hours from all 3 stores on any of my questions.
5. Customer service regarding exchange of size or return if needed.
Via email- no change in attitude at the metion of a return or exchange. eshakti.com had a no questions asked return policy if item was returned in 10 days, sila had inform within 24-48 hours via email policy on return and return within 7 days, salwar.com does not accept returns on ready to wear unless the clothes are damaged.
Other feed back (applies to my personal preferences)
1. Ready to wear pants and shalwars at all three places were too long for me as i am only 5'1 and i wear 35.5 inch long shalwar. eshakti pants were 42 salwar was 41 salwar.com pants were 42 churridar was okay, sila pants were 38.5 and shalwar was 39. Also full sleeves were also 2-3 inches long for me as i wear 19.5 inches (yes i have stubby arms too).
2. If you like loose fitting clothes then e-shakti is a really good deal based on pricing. The stitching is neat and the fabric feels pretty good for every day. Custom order may provide a better fit and shape. Shalwar is cut indian style not pakistani typical style so you may or maynot like it.
3. Salwar.com quality of clothes was rather good just both necklines were small on me when i wore them. I like my neckline to be at least 6 inch deep at angle. Stitching was neat. Daman/ghairaa was wider than hips making both shirts look A-line, i will get that altered.
4. Sila.com waived the re-stocking fee on both their outfits for my return as i will be custom ordering the peacock design with a shalwar later. The black one fit very nicely but the sleeves and kameez length were too long for me and the kameez had kaam on daman/ghera so it cant be altered. Stitching was very neat.
I returned the outfits from eshakti.com and sila.com, paid $20 total at the post office. salwar.com does not take returns but i got a credit of an item that went on sale (they offered it automatically and i saw it on my card statement) after i had ordered so i saved $20 so for me my returns cost me nothing.
I spent $36 on shipping total (i got free shipping from salwar.com), spent zero on returns and spent $217.9 on two semi formal outfits that i am keeping (no return policy at salwar.com plus they will be nice after some alterations). Im pleased with my experience.
P.S not related but please pray for my Taya as they have now discovered a clot in his lung which they are trying to thin out with medication.
Re: Im taking the step

Thank you Femme! No ive never shopped at Hina B ive seen her site, she has a collection of images from quite a few Pakistani magazines/designers. Perhaps some other guppies have an experience with her. Once again thank you for the prayers, we need them.
