Im taking the step

Since i have no issues shopping for stuff online, i have decided to shop from some desi sites for clothes. I will then post my feed back on.

  1. Actual piece v.s picture on site- Accuracy
  2. Actual piece v.s description on site- Accuracy
  3. Fit
  4. Customer service during the order to delivery time.
  5. Customer service regarding exchange of size or return if needed.
  6. Any suggestions you want to add?

The sites i am thinking of are eshakti.com, salwar.com, sila.com, 786shop.com.
Any more that i should try?

Im going to order one formal and one casual piece from each place to see what the quality range is. I will be $1000 broke by the end of this venture but i think its worth it.

Re: Im taking the step

add indusmart.com to your list also and try as well.

Re: Im taking the step

^^ are u ordering for me??lolz.
i dunno what size i am in Shalwar Kamiz ....i usually order my cynosure (karachi boutique) dresses in xs size...and for the tailored ones i send the tailor a nicely fitted shirt to duplicate....

Re: Im taking the step

Wow you are tiny :) Nahin i was thinking if it didnt work for me i could offer it to you but you would float around in my size...

Re: Im taking the step

sooraj-mukhi can you also let us know which online shops have shalwar kameez in stock? it seems that on sila.com most of their outfits have to be pre-ordered. i wouldn't want to wait 6 weeks to get an outfit.

Re: Im taking the step

meena, about Sila, I didn't have to wait at all, and I've gotten a few. What you can also do is call them or email them to ask about the outfit you want, customer service was great. They also told me about a few outfits that were not yet on the website, said I could return if I didn't like, but of course I didn't want to buy without seeing the pics first. Anyway, got my outfits within 5 days, they also do overnight shipping.

Re: Im taking the step

thats strange because on their website when i click on an outfit it says that its not in stock and i can pre-order it.

Re: Im taking the step

Ok, I don't know about that. I usually give them a call before I place the order online to make sure it's in stock and when it will ship out. So far never had a problem.

Re: Im taking the step

eshakti.com- dress comes from India, takes 10-14 days to make and 5-7 business days to deliver so about 21 days.
salwar.com- dress comes from India, takes 14 days to make and 5 days to deliver so about 19 days.
786shop.com- dress comes from Pakistan, takes 15 days to make and with courier takes 3-5 days to deliver but that cost is around $40 and with air mail takes upto 20 days to deliver. so about 35 days.
sila.com- instock items ship the same day from the US and Canada, some pre-orders ship in 10 days (they have it listed on their site for particular designs), formal pre-orders ship in 6 weeks. Custom orders ship in 6-8 weeks. Standard ground delivers in 4-7 biz days.

So once i order on Monday lets see the actual delivery time for all of them.

Re: Im taking the step

by the way has anyone noticed that the model on sila.com looks pregnant in the new pictures they added recently?
