… Since i’ve gotten into photography and i upload my photos on art and design websites i think i want to watermark them with my username, but alot of people have suggested that it totally ruins the photo and is quite distracting. Do you guys think i should go ahead with it, i just can’t stand the thought of someone stealing my photos

You cant stand the thought of someone stealing your photos, that should be a good enough reason for you to watermark them with your signature.

Btw they're not photos of me, they're just pictures of nature, but i still don't think people should claim they are theirs. I have tried watermarking and it looks awfull :/

You need to fade the watermark to the point where it doesnt spoil the picture. You are good at photography, I am assuming you are good at photochopping as well.
