Congrats. I just want to give you some support. A friend of mine got pregnant witht heir second when the first one was 9 or 10 months old. She was really overwhelmed and stressed out during and after the baby was born. But after a month, they developed a good routine and now the second one who is 9 months old keeps the older one company and they play together and all. She likes the age gap now a lot. InshaAllah you will also find it workout in your favor.

You already got very supportive replies, but I just wanted to share that me and my younger brother are 18 months apart and MashAllah we share such a great and close bond :)
Plus I have 4 nephews and they are all less than 2 years apart from eachother. Its going fine so far :) (Not that I would recommend anyone having 4 kids so close, but thats another issue, different from yours) ..

I was thinking some people have twins! and they are fine. Im actually quite lucky my daughter although she is only 13 months she has been walking since she was 10 months and has been sleeping through the night for a long time. Maybe if i had left it another year i would have been so use to a certain lifestyle that it would have been a big shock. Well we have the bottle steriliser set up, the stair gates in place, the house is baby accident proof so maybe it is a good time...Allah knows best. I still can't help feeling down....also shall i tell you something really pathetic...i feel that it will be embarrasing to tell people i am pregnant again...especially the white people at work (by the way i work at a huge international Law firm) Will they think...she's only been back a month and she's pregnant again? not that i will tell them yet...i will tell them in March time. is it normal? is it embarrassing to be pregnant again so soon? I loved being pregnant the first time as i loved the attention...will it be different this time...maybe it's always different when it's your second, third etc...if i had waited a bit longer would it have been more special?
trust me, ULL B FINE!! uve got everythin in place.. u know exactly how to handle a baby and ure so up for it so u r ready!!!!! dun let the fear of unknown haunt u.. u will do just fine, in fact much better. as i said u wud b in more shock if u gave a gap as ull b used to havin one baby and all. its mch better this way. Allah indeed knows best. and MA u r sooooooo lucky ur baby slept thru the nite and strted walkin earlier... MA pls do thank Allah for it always... if u see my condition & my baby u will consider urself the luckiest mom of all... IA all will b well and dun u dare feel embarased .. dun these white ppl get preg back to back.. its none of their business anyway. dun feel paranoid.. just enjoy ur preg. i know first pregnancy is always special but u cant expect to feel EXACTLY the same way in this pregnancy, thaz askin for too mch. uve experienced pregnancy before and it was first time so the second time around u cannot have those feelings... just enjoy this preg and stop worryin soo mch.. hugs

I just wanted to thank each one of you for your beautiful and supportive replies…I read each one. And i just wanted to let you all know that i'm feeling a little bit better today. Although i feel overwhelmed by the whole thing and the sense of responsibility I'll have forever. But it's Allah's wish, he knows best and i respect that.

Sparrow. Just don’t hesitate to share.
Also, I really believe that there is no right or wrong in terms of timing EXCEPT where there are serious health (and maybe also financial) risks. I think to be a good parent, you plan according to your circumstances. It’s not easy, but I really don’t believe it’s ever easy.

sparrow... hugs.. ure most welcome!! i now understand wot esactly ure thinkin after readin ur detailed post abt how u had plans.. by that post it seemed that you had planned alot in life.. when to do wot etc and MA u were evn able to do things exactly acc to the way you planned.. but sometimes too mch plannin is not essential.. sometimes we HAVE to let nature take its course.its practically impossible to always plan things.. so take it easy.. enjoy ur preg now that u know u cant do anythin abt it,.. why not spend the next 6-7 mnths ACTUALLY enjoying and livin each day :)

Just pray for me...i don't care whether it's a boy or girl...i just want a healthy baby and inshallah an easy pregnancy and birth just like first time round. That reminds me i haven't posted my birth story which i will do shortly.

hey don't worry its a great age gap... My Brother n I have about 1 1/2 year and MashAllah have great bonding! And ur kids will love it INSHALLAh...
