It's nowhere near as exciting as it might have sounded. When I say I didn't convert in the conventional sense, it means that I've never identified myself as anything other than Muslim. So the conversion, if you want to call it that, was more of a realization that I need to give a higher priority to my deen.

No, I've never been an atheist. I may not have been as observant as now, but I've always been a Muslim. Normally if I've ever questioned things, it would have been more out of curiosity and not from disagreeing with it on a philosophical (here I use philosophical because I can't think of any better term at the moment) level.

Faith is not engraved in stone that couldn't be changed. Faith changes with individual experiences. There is a spectrum of faith. While some tend to go from one extreme to the other, most people usually pick a slice of the spectrum and stay on it. I have been an agnostic for the bigger part of my life but there are times where I am not sure. Well, I guess that is still pretty agnostic of me.

Dear Theorist, have you read the quran as explained on the following link? Of course you need time for reading it because it is a vast amount of writing but may be something you are looking for. It is not a cup of tea of everyone.
