Yay so I’m going Pakistan next week for a month. We live in Islamabad and I know the usual Gowl Market, Jinnah supermarket etc.
But apart from all this are there any other bridal shops, places I could buy all my favour boxes invitation cards etc?
My grandad lives in Pindi so I’d love to explore all the old markets like Moti Bazaar etc as well.
Please guide me guys!
Re: I'm going Pakistan!
Hey! Firstly hope you have a good time there. There are lots of places in Islamabad and Pindi that you could go to. In pindi there is Rabi Centre, Gulf ( a plaza which has lots of fabric), i've heard China Town in Pindi has plenty of material, you could try out the kaam wale shops on Muree Road ( if you're looking for kaam wale suits). I can oly remember a few names such as: Couples, Designers, Mohsin and Sons, Khan Variety, these shops are opposite Rabi Centre in Pindi.
In Islamabad try out Generation and Cynosure in F.7, Bareeze in F.10 Markaz, Melange in F.6. If you go to Beverly Plaza you will see Karma and "Designers" they have nice stuff.
Thanks M! Ive been to all the places you have mentioned actually but will definately be visitng again. I think clothes will be a walk in the park for me. As Ive mentioned numerous times on GS we have a karigar on Muree Road that our family has used for generations so he will be able to sort out all my clothes and even the fabrics!
Rabi Center was quite awesome in the beginning. I think its really gone down in quality now :(
What I really need to know about is where to buy
- Favour boxes
- Invitation cards
And not expensive shops in Islamabad that cost the same as UK! That defy s the purpose of going Pakistan for wedding shopping!
I need to buy my hubbys wedding ring from Pakistan. It will be a plain platinum challa. How do I make sure I get the right size? Do they use ring sizes from A-Z there like we do in Europe? Or should I do the good old traditional thing of getting him to wrap a thick string round his finger and then measuring in in cm/inch?!
Hmm 112 people views and only one response :(

I don't know too much about where to order cards etc from, but as far as the bit in bold is concerned, why not be safe and take along both sizes? Though I'm sure they'll use the same ring sizes, they definitely do for women. But just to be safe, you'll have the other measurement on hand too. Or if he already has a ring of some sort, maybe you could take it along?
