I am going to karachi soon and really want to have a good time. My problem is that my cousins make fun of my phsical features! I don’t think I’m ugly. I have green/blue eyes and people tell me im incred. fair. I’m skinny and tall with brown hair. They pick on my nose! Anyway…questions

1)why make fun of me
2)what beuty things should I bring
3)what clothing
how can I fix myself to avoid the taunts)!!!

Re: I’m going to Pakistan and need help!

Please post a picture for correct judgement and advice… if nose job is needed then nothing can fix your cousins not to make fun of you. :hehe:

Re: I’m going to Pakistan and need help!

i think it is extremely rude to make fun of someone, especially for the things they have no control over… people are soooooo rude sometimes. :grumpy:

Re: I'm going to Pakistan and need help!

hehe cousins do that. ignore them. instead pick on them. call them fobs and stuff and be like omg you don't know ANYTHING. they will eventually stop.

as for beauty stuff...bring what you usually use. i always make sure i have my own moisturizer, and bring my exfoliant, toner and other stuff that i use. also, if there is some kind of makeup that you use, bring along that too.

clothes, well the weather is changing, so bring a mix of summer clothes and a little warmer clothes. you won't need a sweater, but a nice fancy jacket would do. not too sure about karachi weather so other karachi guppies will help you with that.

Re: I'm going to Pakistan and need help!

Pakistanis have the tendency to point out and ask about anything they see as a physical flaw. I don't think they realize it's rude. Though occasionally I think it may be done out of maliciousness or jealousy, most of the time it's curiousity or a desire to help you out (in case you hadn't noticed that you had put on weight, had a huge zit, or had thinning hair, etc). You'll just need to develop a thick skin and smile and ignore the comments. You sound lovely. No one is perfect. Don't worry about what they say.

Pretty much anything you need for your beauty needs can either be purchased there or can be done cheaply at a local beauty salon. However, take favorite lotions, hair products, or hair removal products, etc, of choice, if you are really tied to soemthing you love. I do think you should take your makeup products and other products for the face with you.

A couple sweaters, but mostly some nice desi outfits for daily wear and/or parties/weddings depending on the occasions. I don't wear jeans/pants in Pakistan, tho I think they are becoming much more prevalent. But leave space in your suitcase for shopping :D

Don't forget to take gifts for friends/family in Karachi.

Take some stomach meds and your pain killer of choice.

Re: I’m going to Pakistan and need help!

  1. coz they’re jealous b*tches. They’re probably dark eyed, dark skinned and short and fat. (not that that’s ugly but since theyre making fun of u for how u look, hell do the same to them).

  2. whatever you normally use. I would NOT buy makeup or skin care products from there.

  3. clothing, wear what you feel comfortable in. Alot of girls in Paksitan wear jeans but I personally feel comfy in shalwar kameez only. But DO take advantage and go SHOPPING! :balley:

Re: I'm going to Pakistan and need help!

it goes with the territory, they don't think they are are being rude!!!... i also get:
what a crooked/big nose? (i always get complimented on it in the uk?!)
whats wrong with your skin? (acne breakout)
why are you so fat? (i'm a size uk10/us 6)
why is your brassiere showing?(IT'S LAWN!!!!)
you are really dark? (i'm a mac NC35)

at first i was embarassed and said nothing, but now i just say something mean back to them, i know it's childish but it makes me feel better and i don't end up analysing myself for hours on end!!!

Re: I'm going to Pakistan and need help!

Sister, the more you feel irritated, the more people would irritate you. Behave as if you don't care about anything people say about you. When they laugh at your nose, you also smile and say that yes, I have a unique nose and I am really happy with the way Allah has created my nose. When they would see that you are not getting irritated but also enjoying, they would stop taunting you.
