Precious Khan - Jihaad means a struggle one puts forth to submit to the will of Allah (swt). We have been asked not to listen to music that can begin to control our train of thought and depict bad messeges by Him. It is a personal Jihaad.

the 5 pillars of islam are not jihaad because they are mandatory.
Music is not a Jihaad, you are right. Keeping from listening to music that sends bad messages IS jihaad. It's obviously not as drastic as other forms of Jihaad, but it still is a STRUGGLE. (and struggle = jihaad)
