How do u peeps save money, especially girls? I’m such a big spender, I need to learn how to be more frugal and careful with my money. I have like fifty pairs of shoes but everytime i go to the mall i get another pair

earn more, thats the only thing i could do, and just alter your spending habbits a bit and you'll be saving in no time :)

Put a certain amount away each week automatically, and not touch it. Or…stop going to the mall to buy shoes. Try picking up some new antennas instead. :bash:

This is VERY VERY SCARY ...ONLY DO THIS AS A LAST RESORT
buy a book/get a book...like a diary
and write down every single transaction yo have made that day.. down to a penny ...even tiny things like sweets.
Do it every evening
tally it up every day
and then every week
and then every month...this requires dedication.
secondly allocate X amount of money for clthes per month and food etc...
and a small amount for frivelous fripperies
dont carry excess cash around and dont carry a credit card
and dont go to a shopping mall for recreation
go to a museum, park, visit friends family etc

Laizy i used to do that when i was in HS.. i got depressed when i realized how much $$ im actually spending so i stopped doing that 
I do that, with every bit of $$ i get (excluding gift paisa), i take some for food, some for other stuff and some for spending.. usually it’s 50 % for food, (i eat out a lot 
), 30 percent for saving, 20 percent for spending on things i mite need .. but lately, since i started working, i just spend however.. leaves me in really bad shape, $$ wise

I feel your pain. 
For starters, pay attention to your bank statement, particularly the columns that show you how much you withdrew and how much you inputted into your account. We don’t realise how much we are spending until we see the total sum on our monthly statements and it can be quite an obscene amount of money.
I like LD’s suggestion as well. Write down how much you spend, every little penny.

I used to be extremely careless with money, I'd just go to the mall and buy whatever I liked. But then again, at the time I was in high school and college and my parents were still heavily supporting me, I'd just spend all my own money on clothes ---> this was the justification that led to me overspending.
However, now that I have a zillion other expenses, I just don't fee like buying things when I go to the mall. I guess I've learned to be frugal with time.
I do get tempted every now and then by a cute purse/pair of shoes/jacket etc. I've implemented a 2 day rule for those situations.. If I'm still obsessing over something 2 days after I saw it, then I'll splurge.....I've had a pretty successful run with this method so far...
Nowadays I get very tempted to pamper myself with massages, manicures etc...I have a similar 2 week rule for that :-p
It's tough to stick to a budget, good luck!

I got big dream of mine and i plan on getting there inshallah in less than 2 years. Believe me i save money.. :~)
when you get your check either get all big bills it will hurt you to break them anywayz you will think like 50 times :D i do. I am a cheapo...
and now when you go and buy a new pair of shoe just hink of those people in pakistan who have no shoes who have no house, no where to go, no food.... if you have a heart you wont spend.

It's simple, don't spend...look, if ur gona be stressed out later bcos u r broke then it's not worth even spending is it? U need to spend within ur limits...it helps not to carry ur credit cards with u and spend cash only, like funguy said...but seriously, u shud know that if u don't have it, u can't spend it...think about all ur financial obligations before u decide to splurge next time...just my honest opinion :)

more jobs = more money = more shopping = overspending yet again.
The root of the problem lies within our own behavior, we can all learn to be happy within our means, whatever those may be (except for the poverty stricken ppl of course)

i dont look at bank statements. thats not my job HA AHA BAHAH. yeh thats true, hurts more when u pay with cash.
laizy, u spend money in a museum too, i mean i'd rather buy somthing with that money. i love buying gifts, and if i go to the mall i HAVE to buy something otherwise i'm depressed.
oh yeh n takeouts cost a lot of money too, but thats hard to cut back on

What i meant was free places... Do you have free museums etc near you ..DONT GO TO THE GIFT SHOP
what i found is the the less i went out to a shopping centre the more money i had
and I didnt miss not having bought anything because at the end of the day I have all I need
