Re: Ihl e Zaban
Back on topic..... taking efforts for one's language is a big responsibility, but it makes people eternal in long term.
In Sindh, the most famous and revered poet is Shah Latif. He is not revered only because he was sufi in sufi land, but because he wrote in Sindhi, when there was a trend of writing in Persian (official language of state- Mughals). Today no one knows names of those darbari qaseeda go Persian writers, but Shah Latif's name is a household name in Sindh even after more than 250 years.

From the link:
In a study on colonial education in the subcontinent,**Under the Shadow of the Raj (2006)](http://epaper.dawn.com/~epaper/DetailImage.php?StoryImage=10_06_2012_427_001), one of the respondents commented on Urdu saying,“Yes, on reflection I do feel there werea lot of gaps, a whole chunk of Urdu language went missing! Unfortunately not having made a base in early schooling years one has never recovered, a major regret. Well, what to expect when one is fined for speaking Urdu! Yes, no trace of our history too. In fact a whole culture gone from our lives where our roots are embedded… very sad and almost lethal invasion of human minds.”

Look at this page from leading Urdu daily Jang.
Todays Urdu Headlines - Pakistan News | Daily Jang
The heading of third News items conveniently ignored to use Urdu words Afsar e shahi (Bureaucrats) and Adalat e Uzma (Supreme Court). Some people would argue that these English words are common d easy to understand, but if they go through the same daily’s archives 15-20 years back, they will find usage of Urdu words. These English words were not popular automatically, they have been given chance and promoted in Urdu dailies and channels.

" urdu is dying due to ..." Yeh sab kehne ka maqsad sirf itna hai ke maa baap ko is pehlu pe ghor karna chahiyeh pakistan ho ya pardes angrezi (ya us mulk ki jo bhi zuban ho) wo to insan sikh hi jata hai lekin urdu to college/ university se nahi sikhta insan... woh maa baap hi sai bolenge to bache bhi sai bolenge.. maa baap ehmiyat denge to bache bhi zuban ko ehmiyat denge
Question - Would German be your maadri zabaan aur Urdu, since your mother's tongue is Urdu. Maybe you can say that German is your first language since you were born there/grew up there.
And 'sai' nahi hota, 'sahih' hota hai. :D
Good for your parents to teach you Urdu.
BTW, German sounds really hard and difficult. Is it ?
